#Simple kitchen with accessible deep freeze infinite storage

Hello all. This is the kitchen design I have been using for a while. The kitchen has most useful cooking stations and they're all supplied by auto-sweepers to reduce dupe work. All edibles and cooking ingredients are stored in a vacuum on a single weight plate made of depleted uranium (rads kill any germs if needed) and it is accessible to dupes. The sides of the vacuum tile have blobs of liquid to keep it a vacuum (naphta of visco-gel work well). The auto-sweepers on the edges can reach all cooked foods, but they can't reach the infinite storage, so they can automatically send all cooked food into the deep freeze infinite storage without creating an infinite delivery loop.

The depleted uranium weight plate is cooled by a single thermo regulator with hydrogen offscreen. It is set to cool it to - 200 C to make sure the food is extra deep frozen. Just for good measure, there is a storage bin set to store rot pile at priority 1, just in case anything spoils in the infinite storage tile (it's very unlikely).

There is a conveyor loader with manual use allowed, so that food elsewhere is sent to the infinite storage by dupes, but it is set to "sweep only" so that they don't create an infinite delivery loop. The rest of the food from farms and stables are better off being picked up by auto-sweepers and delivered through rails to the infinite storage deep freeze tile.

I placed a refrigerador on the left just to give the room the "kitchen" status, thus enabling the deep fryer and the spice grinder, even though I don't really use the latter.

Anyways, just thought it'd be cool to share this. It is a bit simpler than other designs I have seen, so I've stuck with it.

I started a new colony in PPP recently, and I improved the design a bit. I included smokers at the floor below with auto-sweeper access, And I improved the food chiller a little more.

#

The new chiller cools the food further by passing through metal tiles before being dumped in the infinite vacuumed storage.

Hmm... I don't like vacuum storage much, because a) it breaks if you get a piece of nearly-rotten food on your belt and end up dropping a rot pile in the freezer, and b) using chlorine instead very quickly gets rid of any germs that might've gotten onto your food. (but in this design, using a gas would transfer heat w/ the sealing droplets)

Neat design, tho. My big complaint is my bases tend to have a single central ladderwell with rooms branching off to left and right, so it'd be really awkward for my dupes to reach the far smoker

#

No direct way for a dupe to travel from smoker a to smoker b

#

Could maybe shave the corners off your icebox and unlock those doors, tho then you have dupes with soggy feet

As an additional safety measure, the storage bin over the infinite edibles storage is set to store rot pile at priority 1. If something does spoil in there, the auto-sweeper will remove it right away. I have used this design for thousands of cycles and so far it has not had any polluted oxygen being generated in that tile.

As for the pathing for smokers, there's nothing preventing anyone from changing the pathing and using ladders and such. I just made it that way to make it neater. cursed_pip

Yah, I guess I'm still used to the days when rot piled offgassed, lol

I'm not a person to post and reccomend an ONI design willy-nilly. This design has withstood the test of time!
