#Which is your favourite era of X-Men publishing? (Semis #1/2)

Claremont really defined the X-men
I have no horse in this race tbh, never read either one, I just voted for the better-looking one.
@terse lichen, thanks for voting!
Why did you choose Uncanny (Claremont)?
I'm bias as hell because I've read like, 7 issues of Whedon's, and I can't, for the life of me, make it through clairmont
I'm trying, because I've read his Wolverine
But like, his EARLY work does that thing I hate about all early marvel comics, where every character is saying everything outloud.
and when I say everything, I mean everything. They'll say, very blunlty "I'm feeling angry right now." If the panel clearly shows them getting shot, they'll say "AH! I was shot!" If someone cearly dies, they'll say "No! He's clearly dead!"
It's hard, but like I said, he seems to drop that shit later on, because I've read his Wolverine Mini-series, and it's amazing and he's not doing any of that in the series
So for now, I prefer Wheddon, but I'll eventually push through early clairmont, and get to the good stuff
It's hard though. Like, I can't describe how hard it is to read that shit
i’d say defo start with days of future past then
Emma Frost ❤️💎
i don’t remember any of this happening in that
quite frankly
i like uncanny but a lot of the xmen plots in general are getting unappealing to me because of the age of krakoa bs
The Krakoan age is bs correct
or whatever i mean
yea
Man I hate Krakoa
This is not objective btw I just hate it so much
It wasn't a bad read
its just super bs
i don't like how like a some of the OG X-men's moral compasses went 360
But there's also the sheer amount of extinction-level threats of mutants
wtf even is krakoa
is it some planet that hickman created to complicate x men
oh no it’s not that
but he just used it for that
Uncanny is the fucking goat
Good stuff
uncanny was good
Honestly I don’t think Claremont’s era is the best X-Men but it’s way superior to anything Whedon did in any capacity
A living island. A mutant island that lives. It captured the original X-Men which is why Storm & Wolverine & Nightcrawler & Colossus joined the team. Later, Jonathan Hickman made it a whole country for mutants
You even hate God Loves, Man Kills!??? What???
I said EARLY work
I meant like the first five-ish issues
It took me like a week to read them shits
Read the entire thing that I wrote
Took me like a day to finish the first few issues of Uncanny, you should honestly give Claremont another chance. God Loves, Man Kills is just one of the best thing I’ve read
I’m trying, but I can’t read old shit to save my life
I have no idea how people can read shit by Lee and Kirby. The only old thing I can read are the original Fantastic Four comics. Besides that, I have a hard time reading much else
Idk why
Cuz I heard it's good HAHAHAHAHA I haven't rlly started reading comics butttt I am planning this summer, if u guys could pls reccomebd me sum beginner freindly oness
