Well I was tired as shit today (I was protecting the streets of Gotham from criminal filth in Arkham: Shadows for a little too late yesterday, oops), so I haven’t really worked on it since the last update. Some of them. Most of my designs are functional (I study mechanical engineering), but the chest piece I designed myself

Same with the batarangs (although it’s really just a trace from the Nolan batarangs), and the batarang stands

The escrima sticks and especially the Deadshot blaster will also be my own designs, but most of my designs are “boring” everyday objects for stuff I need, or parts to fix broken stuff, that sorta thing

Nowadays? Extremely easy

Yesn’t. You can fully automatically generate them and usually that’s just perfect, but for some prints you might want to adjust some things. Fortunately that’s very easy to do too. Mostly the “hard” stuff is just learning what your printer can and cannot do, so you know what to take into consideration

But for the biggest part that’s just optimization. You will already get fully functional parts with just the basic settings

You js made the mistake of saying you like talking about smth which means whenever i have a dumb question about smth your dm's WILL be assaulted with stupidity

That can be a bit tricky but the way I do it is as follows:

This amazing person called Budwin (who also made the model for my Red Hood helmet and many others) made a couple of models of heads. You can download this file, measure the circumference of your own head, and then scale the digital head to be similar sized. Then you can scale your mask or helmet or whatever until it fits over the digital head just like you want it to.

So far I’ve also always done a test print. Basically what I do is I slice a tiny portion of the helmet/mask/whatever, then I print that. Then I can just hold that piece to my body to see if it fits right, or if I should adjust my scaling

For the chest piece for example after the initial test print I measured I needed to scale it to be 2.5 cm shorter, and that shorter test print was perfect

Like a realistic arm so you can scale? Hmmm idk, def wouldn’t be the weirdest thing out there. I do feel like it wouldn’t be that hard to just measure your own arm and scale accordingly, especially with one or two test prints like I said

For example these are the test prints I made for the chest piece. It’s very easy to just hold these up to my chest and see if it fits well

Also 3D scanning is an option, but I tried that on myself and let’s just say the results were…. interesting

I did use 3D scanning to successfully print a replacement part for something, so it definitely has it’s uses
