#Will Wonder Man (D+ series) make a notable impact in the MCU?

The worse part is he is very important in the secret wars 2015 comic đź’€
Love wonder man as a character and the team behind it and actors in it are great.
But its a small character and a B list avenger normally. So the odds are it wont shake up the mcu much
oh damn
yeah, i dont read the comics so i have no clue :(
but at least he's getting some spotlight!!
He definitely will
Wonder Man is connected to the X-Men, specifically Rogue and Beast
Since Rogue has his powers, and he's best friends with Beast
i doubt mcu will do allat
They will
They'll at least do the Rogue thing
they mentioned it anywhere?
No, but I doubt they're going to be releasing plot threads from a show that's not out, and a phase that's not even happening for years
All we can do is predict
And that's my prediction
I don't know much about wonder man, I searched him up on Wikipedia, he's cool i guess but I dunno if he's gonna do a big impact
But if he does cool then ig
So it's mostly a maybe for me
wonder woman better
Facts
W
But boy wonder better
Wonder Man will be in SW
Sure
I thought this exact thing about past projects only to be so very wrong so I’m expecting to be surprised.
what even is wonder man i've literally heard NOTHING about this other than the random teaser that all of a sudden came out???
It’s a bit hard to describe, but he’s a major character in the comics
Like bigger than Iron Man
I think he's not gonna have any real connections yet.
really?
i've never even heard of him, but i don't read much comics so that would make sense
Never even heard of him
People are like "never heard of him" and then have never touched a single comic
Of course you haven't heard of him
He isn't in the MCU yet
I think he’d show up after the multiverse saga
W
Even bigger W
100%
hes not very popular
fr
agatha all along was prtty good
hearing mixed things on it
I think that it will make an impact as Dr strange's record of dying most of the time will break
Of course he will, he’ll be a new powerhouse that changes the balance of power in the world
Same way the Sentry will do the exact same
A single human being can’t possess that much power and not take a notice…Hulk/ Thor/ Sentry/ Hyperion and Wonder Man
No he's not.
Iron Man is just a side character
He's not xmen or Spider-Man but he is not below Wonder man in the comics
Anthony is in a LOT more comics than Simon
Wonder Man is much more well known (excluding the movies)
No he's not. Characters that are well known show up in more comics. Because their very appearance sells the issues. The publication history of both characters is proof of Tony being more popular than Simon for the last decade +.
Don't spout random statements without data or proof to back it up
True, but likely only for the last decade+ as you say. You’re absolutely right Iron Man is probably more popular now. What I mean is when Iron Man was created he really was just a side character.
His success, and popularity is entirely contingent on the MCU version of him.
So what? When you typed the statements above you spoke in the present tense.
And that's how it is.. When u say who's more popular
You have to consider creation to today
All of it
I apologize for that, I was referring to the comics generally. My mistake.
Not just the year of creation
True, but his success is contingent on the MCU. That means the comic version of him can still be very bad.
Again.. I'd say You're really simplifying the matter too much
He is being pushed because of the mcu
You're totally right
But if he's comics are bad they would be cancelled in a few issues.
N yes whole his runs aren't like blockbusters
Not if people keep buying them.
They aren't being cancelled
With the exception of Spider-Man to scalp later, people don't buy comics that are bad
People without a lot of knowledge of comics, but with a big knowledge of the MCU could
I think it’s just dependent on the movies. That’s when he only gained success.
The reverse is just as true as your statement (I. E. Both true. You're not wrong.) his comics can be bad.. But they can also be good right? How can you outright say his comics are bad
The general public don't even buy comics. They buy the mu subscription. Or pirate frankly. The people buying comics issue by issue for the most part don't care what the mcu is doing. In fact actively hate the mcu synergy
I think it’s just based on how you define it. There’s no way to know for certain.
Well... Figures is a pretty certain way lol
No they wouldn't
Look at a bunch of krakoa
That shit ran for years, and a lot of it isn't great
Krakoa bad titles got cancelled pretty fast.
Fallen angels
The entire era was bad
The cap Britain one
Na. That's just you saying that cuz you're a fan of the 90s stories
But like I said. Lots of krakoa titles got canned
The bad ones do get cancelled
You guys need to know the difference between facts and opinions 🤦‍♂️
The False dilemma fallacy
"False dilemma or false correlative. Here something which is not a correlative is treated as a correlative, excluding some other possibility."
You're assuming that I am a fan of the 90s stories, and because of that, I dislike Krakoa - I have never stated my opinion on the 90s stories, nor does my opinion on the 90s stories relate to my opinion on Krakoa.
"You guys need to know the difference between facts and opinions" is a statement that implies you were being factual, when you were not. Bad titles aren't automatically canned - examples that prove this point are the entire old ultimate universe, Krakoa, modern (the last decade) Spider-Man, the boys, crossed, ect.
Based on what "facts" are you calling them bad then. Elaborate.
What matters to a title's continuation is how much money it makes - not it's quality
The writing mostly, I can't speak about art
What about the writing? There's plenty of reviews I can point to that have really high ratings especially the Ewing, gillien Hickman stuff.
The old ultimate universe, the boys, and crossed are edgy for the sake of edge, and have horrible continuity over the stories.
Modern Spider-Man has been plagued by editorial, especially Nick Lowe, and writers being forced into writing things they do not like.
Since you seem to be taking an interest in the Krakoa example specifically, I will type out a longer message elaborating on my issues with the three writers you mentioned and Krakoa as a whole.
Those are your issues
There are many people who liked it
There are high rated reviews
It is generally liked
Ad hominem (Latin for 'to the person'), short for argumentum ad hominem, refers to several types of arguments that are fallacious.
I know how to copy paste too
You know what.. I have other work to do. If u wish to have this "win" take it.
What drama is going on here guys đź’€
Yes, but unlike the fallacy I mentioned, I don't fall into Ad Hominem. I haven't attacked your character, I have simply argued my point.
There are high rated reviews on many things that I don't believe deserve them. There are many reasons for this - two being that everyone has different opinions on things, and that people can have fun while watching/reading something, yet not think it is good.
You can't have it both ways. If being good is subjective. Being bad is subjective as well. Therefore the entire argument of bad books don't get cancelled can't be had. There are no bad books by your own logic. Just books you like and ones you don't.
And you are right. Books that don't make money get canned
Money is driven by sales
Of course it goes both ways, which just proves my point further. "Bad" books aren't cancelled because they're bad. Books get cancelled because of their sales, be them seen as "bad" or "good" by the general populous.
N there is no hard data on why people buy books
Yea fine.
Good* (as seen by the general populous) books tend to run for longer because they sell, but bad* (as seen by the general populous) can run for just as long. Look at how hated things like The Boys, and The Ultimate Universe are - yet they ran for years because people kept buying.
An example of this I like to use is Velma, despite not being a comic it is relevant to this discussion. The only reason Velma got a second season was because people hated watched it.
Because I keep my word, I will elaborate on my issues with Krakoa.
Starting with the three writers you mentioned.
Hickman tends to reinvent characters in his stories without much care for their previous actions, I dislike how he characterizes the people on the quiet council - especially Nightcrawler - and his disregard for their previous characterization for the sake of telling the story.
Ewing and Gillien both tend to reuse tropes, and just have a very unoriginal aspect to their X-Men stories that I don't like. The entirety of Krakoa really seems unoriginal to me.
The mischaracterization and unoriginality are two huge problems I have with the era, and sometimes even go hand in hand - like what happened with Nature Girl. She was mis characterized so bad, that she ended up being a knock-off Poison Ivy. I personally am not a fan of the character, but I can only imagine how fans felt after she became just another uninteresting eco-terrorist.
(again, this is all my opinion. Facts about comics are very hard to find.)
(unless it comes to what happens in a story. But I meant facts about quality.)
I don't know who wonder man is lol
