Before Infinity War/Endgame, you could watch the GOTG films entirely separate from the MCU and they would still work just as well and vice-versa, where before IW/Endgame you can just outright ignore everything GOTG and the MCU would still work just as well. Eternals is already going to be relevant in Brave New World because of Tiamut Island.

The problem isn’t relevance to the larger MCU, it’s the quality of it.
