they were on contract with Fox, they gave them Pietro for the X-Men movies and they got to keep Wanda for their movies because they were both Avengers and X-Men so the line of who owns them was kinda blurred, and with that they didn't really have a choice but to either not use him or use him very minimally

Black Widow was already a really great character prior to Endgame

And TBH no shade or hate on Endgame’s portrayal of Black Widow but that’s not even her best film. She’s waaay better in Avengers 2012, Winter Soldier and Civil War
