#Who is your favourite live-action Spider-Man?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Each one of them is good in their own way, but the tobey maguire spider-man movies are my childhood and I need more of em
However tasm movies did feel cut short
Love 'em all, but if I had to pick, I guess Tom
I feel like Tom is most like peter personality wise but Garfield is the best action wise.
Tobey as much as i love him just isn't as good as the others
raimi had the best movies but andrew was the best spidey
I really like them all but if I had to pick it is Tom
I think Tom is the best acted
But I'll say I wish spider man was older like the other avengers
i think the reason people pick tobey is the nostalgia attached to him and not because he’s the best lol
Tobey is overrated and tom is close second but Andrew is the goat
Exactly
andrew soloes though
Wasn’t even born until months after sm3 was out, I just like him the most lol
Andrew and imo it’s not that even that close
Mines is Nicholas Hammond, the late 1970s spidey and the very first live action adaption of peter parker imo
Oh fuck yeah, if we doing all of them mine is Shinji Todo
Who?🧐
Toei Spider-Man
Ah, idk why people want to bring that one for??? That isn't even peter parker
Andrew deserves his trilogy
Live action spider-man, not peter parker
I grew up on Tom Holland so I gotta chose him
I liked how grounded Garfield was and how it tried to stick to the golden/silver age of comics in terms of relatability
But for me, I am talking about live action Peter parker and spidey
I’m just talking about spider-man
Ehhh if we do that, might as well add miles too then
If only Miles had a live action iteration…
But for me, the only 4 live action adaptions of peter parker/spidey is tom, Tobey, andrew and Nicholas Hammond
For me, if danny devito was casted as Peni Parker I’d still count him in this conversation
Tom is just better
Uhhh? ...🤨 anyways Nicholas Hammond deserves a spot imo and either way, this question will always have a Neverending debate/answer and is subjective
Never said he didn’t
But never said you excluded him, just speaking in general cause the OP didn't add him as an option
It’s the dance
Andrew Garfield for me. He is so accurate to the comics and he shows a lot of emotion. Tobey and Tom are good too.
All of them are great in their own way
True he's very underrated especially being the first live action spiderman iirc

people say tobey is only the best due to nostalgic reasons, and you’d be correct. tobey is my spider-man 🔥
Garfield
No one can ever beat the OG in my eyes plus Tobey is nice AF irl even when he was meant to be undercover with the fam!!~
Toby still a favorite
💯
agreed, at least imo
how is tobey losing this lol
he easily had the most consistent and well made films out of the trio lol
in terms of sequel honestly i don't even know
tobey's sequel would kinda be like him becoming a peter b parker type figure which would be nice i guess, seeing him finally settle down
andrew i wish actually got to be in good movies but due to the past record of just how badly he was wasted i doubt a third movie would really be good (as much as i wish he got a great film)
tom is the most inconsistent of the 3 and he has potential for a great spider-man movie with this next one but i have very large doubts that the mcu will actually deliver and actually make that kind of great film
Tobey is the best in my eyes, his movies are the only ones I rewatch regularly tbh
Some of the best comic book movies imo
Because Toby's series was a bit hokey and he came off a bit too old looking for the role
Plus that trilogy didn't handle female characters totally well
it's not like andrew or tom's were handled much better
the writing in andrew's trilogy is abysmal all around
and in tom's pretty much everything, including mj are extremely underdeveloped
doesn't really matter when the film is written well
Not terribly better but perhaps not worse
tom's mj is easily the worst out of the 3
They were reasonable
by quite a large margin
Agree to disagree
tom's mj is extremely underwritten
I think she's better in NWH
and has essentially no character traits other than being a love interest, not wanting to be dissapointed and being the "quirky girl" stereotype
tobey's mj as flawed as she is at the very least IS flawed as in actually has motivations, a character arc, flaws.....you know things actual characters have
andrew would have pretty easily been my favorite if his movies were actually good
he's a great actor who was cast in bad movies
Tasm 1 was flawless while 2 is decent for me
the only things i like about tasm 1 other than castings is the basketball scene and the cgi lol
2 is just genuinely awful
tasm 2 turns spider-man into a "chosen one" character which quite literally undermines the entire point of what makes spider-man spider-man
(btw im talking about how they made it so that the only reason he was able to become spider-man was because his dad put his own dna in the spider. the entire point of spider-man is that anyone who gets bit by that spider could have ended up becoming spider-man)
Yeah i hate the chosen one part too
the entire parents arc shouldve been taken out
I love tasm 2 suit tho
the suit is really good
Rippes stright out of the comics
if tasm 2 just focused on one singular villain it could have been a much better film
and without the stupid parents stuff
and obviously better writing lol
I dont think electro shouls be in the movies anyway theres not much backstory to him
Harry was a meh
there should have just been a better and more well rounded antagonist
Rhino somehow worked as a little villian juat for the start
rhino is fine as the "villain of the week"
Yeah
yeah make him physically bigger
He was but the venom problem
its not a good idea to recycle a villain who was already done really well in a movie
Yeah
i don't think we need another sandman in a spider-man film as a main antagonist
Maybe a lil clone saga would work in tasm 2 if it was changed then
Like ben riley ruining peter life after he graduated
idk if a clone arc would work well that early on lol
imo they shouldve just chosen one villain and built a compelling story for him
the best spider-man films USUALLY are the ones that have a strong antagonist with a personal connection to peter
Im thinking kraven
the only case where multiple antaognists works is across the spider-verse because both miguel and spot are handled with perfection
Wait nvm
Ok prowler could be a side villian then, building off a tasm miles morales spin off then have mr negative as main villian
1 billion dollar idea🗣️🔥🔥🔥
I want him to face venom but idk about black cat
felicia would be perfect
in this time when he's devoting all his time to spider-man it would make perfect sense for him to fall in love with felicai
venom prolly wont be in spider man 4
since they prolly saving his suit for avengers secret wars
I don't think he should fall in love
him and felicia will for sure be a thing for at least 2 films
it would make sense narratively
idk if id call what theyd do with felicia exactly a traditional romance
it would be very different
True
also it makes sense for him to veer towards someone like felicia
she's the opposite of mj
Maybe they can do a valentine day special about Peter and Felicia failing as a couple
nah itll be a spider man 4 thing
and prolly 5
then you can have mj again in 6
but no mj and ned till 6
except as small cameos
they should not remember peter till 6
problem is tom holland's only been in one great spider-man film
that was homecoming
nwh is a 7/10 and overrated as hell
ffh is actually bad
obviously the OG
This one. Stan Lee at the end of the video is icing on the cake
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx8MuoR8Ezw
amazing spider man
Thor
well yeah obviously
but it makes him not the best spider-man
best live action is easily tobey since he has the best movies out of the lot
if we were talking animated as well shameik would easily take it but this is just live action
japanese spider-man sweeps
I've only seen clips of him
Nah he’s been doing an amazing job
Actually none of them is the worst.. it’s just abt whose better
Tom’s a good actor
Andrew is objectively the best Actor out of the three
But I feel as though Tobey had more consistency when it comes to being not shit
TASM 1 wasn’t god awful, but it was mid. All TASM 2 really had going for it was the CGI, Andrew and Emma and the OST.
Tom was great in Civil War but all his solo movies were kinda mid
Homecoming was pretty good
But Spider-Man 1, 2, and 3 are all consistently pretty good
Even at their worst they’re still enjoyable movies
