#Which director's portrayal of the mystic arts do you prefer?

Where's "What If" option?
Ez choice
Because the best was in "What if".
I don't see the difference between those two movies.
Just more Dr. Strange magic
Actually watching Dr. Strange 2 rn 💀💀💀
I love MoM but the original is better
The one in what if was cool
Very different character arcs.
In Doctor Strange (2016) his arc is more akin to Iron Man’s arc, where a rich self-absorbed billionaire gets humbled through circumstances and is given newfound responsibility and purpose to the point where even when the Ancient One offers him the chance to go back to how his life once was he doesn’t and chooses to fight Dormammu and become Sorcerer Supreme in the end.
In Multiverse Of Madness his arc is about how he always likes to be in charge and in control over the situation or as they put it he likes to ”Hold the knife” and how he needs to place his trust into others. Hence why the final battle culminates in Christine protecting Strange’s body from the Souls Of The Dammed and America defeating Wanda.
Doctor Strange (2016)’s arc is about self improvement and newfound purpose, while MoM’s arc is about placing faith into others
Yeah, but the poll is about "how mystic arts were shown" and not "how the director depicted Steven Strange".
Wait? Was it?
Oh yeah right, my bad whoops
Either way my vote still goes to 2016
My reasoning being that 2016’s spells felt more balanced and logical, whereas Multiverse Of Madness’ spells feel more showy
In my opinion MoM has a lot more, mystic arts and powers. Had the book with all the different powers of that, just in general it was a lot more quantity with quality, but ofc the movie was pretty ass.
I guess
Doctor Strange by Scott Derickkson stands superior for me because the movie was actually about Stephen, his journey, his character and his struggles instead of being sidelined. It really glorifies his smartness and his ability to learn things but also highlights his own failures in terms of his relationship with people and his flaws as a person.
The thing about each portrayal is that the first film put more focus on the Mystic Arts while the second film made them less of a focus.
i liked that we saw glimpses of some of the powers hes obtained in MOM, especially when hes running in the tunnel and America and Christine think it's a demon or something coming. HOPEFULLY this is an indicator that he's going to start accumulating more monsters to use in Secret Wars like in the comics, that would be cool
The first. I loved the darkness that surrounded MOM but there was too much madness and not enough strange
True
I feel like strange should have either faced the consequences alone
Or him and Wanda too
Either Chavez made the Illuminati or was recruited. ORR she just wants them to fix things bc well she was trying to find her moms and they made it more harder to find them by disrupting the multiverse
Maybe it even disrupted her powers somewhat
Peni$
MOM was a bit more liberal with their use of magic but it definitely showcased a lot more variety
DS1 didn't show that breadth all too well
Magic is just fun to mess with
He’s way more versatile and more powerful, not sure why people voted otherwise
The poll was about ”Which director’s portrayal of the mystic arts do you prefer” not Strange’s character. Don’t worry I made the same mistake too lol
I also mentioned that atleast the movie focused on Strange rather than sidelining him but fair point
