Long enough to develop a story across many comics but also short enough to keep it fresh

NOOOOOO
Idk
I mean if the 2 year ongoing is already finished and doesn't have too many tie ins then yea
atp I just read through
50 issue ongoings across 2-4 years seems to be the sweetspot imo. Immortal Hulk by Ewing & Captain Marvel by Thompson are 2 great examples of recent runs that didn't drag on mindlessly for a long time

I’m good with an ongoing as long as it keeps the same writers/team of writers for the duration. Sometimes a run will go on for 200+ issues and still be one “series” but the team behind it has swapped hands so many times that the story progression and style of writing is all over the place.
I do quite like the really long ongoings because it gives the writer a really good time to develop and understand their character
it isn't always perfect (cough Aaronvengers) but it does mean we get some gems, like Kelly Thompson's Captain Marvel (as already mentioned above)
I have no idea
i like long ongoings
