General Zod WIP:

The President-for-life of Pokolistan (general zod. I need to tweak the name) invites Superman to a festival to honor Superman and kryptonian culture. Superman goes to the celebration out of curiosity.

The festival is a well hidden trap and the nation’s mystics slowly steal Superman’s powers so Kal-El would be a man and the General would be a Superman.

Superman unable to cope with magic makes a desperate bid to stop the transfer by using gold kryptonite to remove his powers completely. This causes the spell to fail and the general to be forever changed(still working on the change details)

So what I’ve got so far is that whatever his name was was a strong a bright man who’s ego lead him to believe he’s an ubermensch

After reaching adulthood he became a police officer who was suspected of police brutality but never caught. Deciding that wasn’t enough he joined the polokstanian army and climbed the ranks.

After hitting general he pushed a policy declaring mystics and meta humans(meta humans being super rare pre-Superman) to be enemies of the nation. More time passes and the general enters politics and makes new laws declaring “super” individuals must nationalize their abilities or be forcibly removed from the nation.

The nationalized mystics and metas were put to work not for civil work, they were lent out to Tech industries and the like. This made the nation and the general very rich.

After becoming president for life he made the punishments for refusal much harsher and anyone who fled to be exiled traitors to the nation

One of such tales is about a mighty general named Dru-Zod who millions of years ago put all the nation states of krypton under his rule and established Pax Zod and established his city to rule all the others dubbing it Kryptonopolis

First thing is that the planet is surrounded by a lethal green energy field

Then the phantom zone is discovered and it’s a hedonistic paradise where mostly wealthy kryptonians can go to feel no pain and not age a second.

The phantom zone is kept open through extreme energy use age and taps into the geothermic core of the planet, and when that’s not enough for the demand they start harvesting the K-energy from the radiation field and destabilize the planet’s core turning it into kryptonite

And the lethal energy field makes much more sense than most canon reasons for why they didn't escape Krypton

His treatment at the hospital made him “back to normal”, but that’s not enough for him. Corban seeks out a mad scientist claiming he wants to be a Man of Steel and have the power to truly hurt Superman…and regrettably for everyone involved that’s exactly what he gets

And finally the 3rd phase would be focused around the heroes battling their worst

Superman would fight Doomsday. Wally West would fight Zoom, causing Iris to miscarry. The teen titans would fight Trigun (Slade has already been defeated/died) and the lanterns would go up against

I'm not sure actually, maybe the red lanterns

But Kyle, John and Hal would face the strongest of the red lanterns, and overcome them

But that wouldn't actually be the challenge they needed to overcome, instead it would be Hal returning home, finding his city reduced to ash
