Version 2.22 of Rocket League added a new setting to disable player-to-player trading.

For some reason, this setting is turned off by default for many players, meaning they can't send or receive trade invites.

We're nearing feature completion for our next RL Garage update. While this update has quite a few QoL updates regarding trading, the biggest changes / feature additions are about content discoverability, design contests and community content. Because of that, we're looking for beta testers for this version who aren't only interested in Trading, but all things Rocket League. If you want to participate in this test, reply to this thread. The beta will start later this week.

Please only apply if you got time to test the new features extensively and if you're willing to report bugs/issues.

Hello @everyone!

We're making some changes in our way of functioning for the discord staff team.

You've been used to chat with our Discord Supports, Moderators, Admins and sometimes our developers. This side won't be modified, as things work pretty well that way!

Nonetheless, we wish to give everyone a chance to be a part of our team. We have then added "Discord Helpers".

Who are Discord Helpers? They are active members that will help us with chat moderation ! Over the years, with the activity growth in the server, Supports have been getting more responsibilities and this role brings back what they looked like a few years ago. This will not be a "definitive" role unlike other staff roles, you can compare this to a sort of trial period where you will discover the moderation work and if you enjoy it.

The period will last 1 month on paper (can vary depending on other factors)

However this will not entirely change the way things have been working yet. We may still pick up staff members based on our factors and let them skip this Discord Helper phase.

We open the Discord Helper applications right now and we will close them in one month from today!

Hello @everyone!

As some of you may have noticed, we have made a big change in our #looking-for-team! We have improved the way you look for teammates.

You won't be able to send your own LFT posts anymore. Although you now can look for mates by using the /lft command. You must fill out all the other information and you can post it!

Be wary to pick the right amount of players for your respective playlists or it will be automatically enforced ⚠️
Example - 6 players in hoops will only give 1 player since hoops is 2 player team game:

Apologies for yet another announcement, but we're making some changes that require you all to be aware of!

Because of issues regarding the safety of all the discord users in the server, we have decided to immediately ban every discord invite link.
<@&833569047101702174> and <@&940119561477435412> won't be affected by the ban, but will see their invites getting deleted.

The server rules will be modified accordingly. Because it is still useful to guide people to certain discord servers, we have added some custom commands to send invite links to other major RL communities. They use the same prefix as Dyno (~):

@everyone Sorry for the everyone spam, but this is a highly important PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT!

FAKE KEYS & FAKE ITEMS are now in circulation throughout Rocket League's trading market and EVERYONE needs to be aware.
Credit to @sturdy maple for awareness raising and verifying with RLE moderators.

Fake keys, keys that have been manually generated instead of bought from Psyonix, can be both traded and used to open crates. They may look entirely normal and be entirely impossibe to recognize, however these keys, and the items received from opening crates WITH these keys, are incredibly dangerous.

WHEN A HOTFIX IS RELEASED, BOTH THE KEYS AND THE ITEMS FROM CRATES OPENED WITH THESE KEYS WILL CEASE TO EXIST.

This issue has been confirmed directly by psyonix and they are actively working on a solution to this problem. It is estimated that over 4,000 of these keys are currently in circulation.

The only way to stay safe from this as of now is to abstain from trading whatsoever and hope any keys you have recently received are legit. You may unknowingly get fake keys from literally anyone, as even the most trusted traders in the market may have gotten them from other people and currently have them

Hello @everyone sorry for the second post of the day but we have just been informed that the recent accusations about fake keys sufarcing into the trading relam are just rumors and are not true. The information we recieved was from a source that could not provide legitiment evidence for these accusations and upon further investagations it is not as seriouse as initially thought to be.

as you may or may not know, I am currently in Singapore. I haven't had much chances to play my favourite game, but my buddies over at Rocket League India are organizing their 7th edition of the Community Cup Series. The tournament will be held from december 8th - 10th. (live streams on 9th-10th)
This cup is limited to Indian players but it goes to show the dedication of the Asian community who are trying their best to get recognition in the global Rocket League Esports scenario. Great news everyone!

Today is an exciting day for us! Since the release of our RLG mobile app, some of the most requested features have been to add a dark mode, user blocking and UI/item translations. And that's what we've been working on in the past couple of months.

Dark mode
Dark mode can be activated on the settings screen (you can find the settings menu on your profile). Set your theme to be activated based on your device settings or manually select dark or light mode. You can also chose between 2 different designs per theme!

User blocking
If you don't want to see trades or messages from another user, you can now block them on their profiles or in the More menu (3 dots icon) on every trade.

Translations
English isn't your native language? No worries! The App UI and all items are now fully translated into these languages:

  • Italian
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese
  • Dutch

We've entirely revamped our set roles channel to not only include a functional system, but just about every category that will no longer need an everyone ping. This change will significantly reduce server mentions from those who don't wish to be notified about certain changes/updates, while also allowing those who do wish to be informed to receive notifications in real time upon signing up for any of these roles. This will be the last everyone ping for the foreseeable future.

What's next?
We are planning on making the necessary improvements to our notification roles over time with extensive testing to make sure they are what the majority of our users request. Platform roles are included in this, as it has been suggested time and time again, stay tuned! Also, all of the staff role colors have been changed to portray a more vibrant look within our staff team.

P.S. Thanks for 160,000 members! We are growing unbelievably fast and it's such an amazing sight to see, active discord channels, voice channels being used super often, there's nothing better! As for staff, we are going to still continue bringing in more Site Moderators and Discord Supports to help balance out everything and make sure you all enjoy your stay here! Many of you have likely noticed that your trades have been automatically deleted in our trading channels when you post them, and this is the direct result of our new bot that we have been testing. This happens because we have now created such a system that automatically enforces our trading rules instead of our discord staff doing this manually.

Why was this change made?
With this wave of new users, it was no longer possible to manually moderate the channels as many of our trading chats have tens of thousands of messages sent daily, and keeping up with that is a near impossible task. However, nothing is perfect upon release, and we will rely on user feedback going forward with any future updates and/or changes to the bot.

How can i give feedback?
Two channels have been created for this purpose, the first is #trading-bot-suggestions which will be used for suggesting new ideas and features to add to this bot. Second, we have #trading-bot-issues, this channel will allow users who are confused about why their trade got deleted to have a place to ask, and our staff will do their best to help them out and resolve the issue. <@&791071419978088449>

Our server has experienced immense growth in the past year, far exceeding any prior expectations. Only a few months ago we passed 100,000 users, and in the time between then and now, we've already reached over 214k users! The server is constantly growing, and I am genuinely honoured to be a part of this community. RLG wouldn't be anything without you; all the members, traders, supporters, nitro boosters, translators, beta testers, writers, and of course, the founders of RLG. Oh! And how could I forget our amazing staff (and former staff) team! ... Though I might be a little biased in saying that! lul

After all of these years we've decided to finally add a leveling system to our Discord server. This change will come with new restrictions, we are removing picture/embed permissions in car designs and best plays for users under level five. Now, don't fret, it won't be difficult to reach level five if you are actually invested in talking to other users for a good period of time.

As of right now, we have only set up two roles to grant these permissions, Content Level One will exist solely for car designs and best plays, while Content Level Two will be for all channels. Look down below for a more detailed explanation on what each role does, and why we decided to make this change.

Content Level One - MEE6 Level 5
-Grants Picture/Embed Perms in Car Designs
-Grants Picture/Embed Perms in Best Plays

Content Level Two - MEE6 Level 30
-Grants Picture/Embed Perms in all channels with some exceptions; trading channels, looking for team, verify user, report user, music commands, and student chat.

Why was this implemented?
We decided to make this change to help dissuade people from immediately joining only to post inappropriate content in our chat channels, as this has become quite frequent in the channels in which all users had the ability to post pictures and embed links freely.

Now, there are a few roles that serve as exceptions to the new level requirements, I'll list them;
RLG Friends, Translator, Nitro Booster, Patreon Donator, and all staff roles.

P.S. Anyone who is caught to be abusing these new level permissions will have their level reset to discourage those who break the rules from continuing to do so. Repeat offenses will result in further consequences, depending on the situation. <@&791071419978088449>

@everyone Many of you might be wondering why we closed the trading channels. This is due to a new type of exploit within the game that allows people to trade Ghost Credits. We will keep all of the trading channels closed until we can confirm that this exploit was patched. Be careful, if you do decide to trade during this time period, be vigilant and warn others.

If you receive a dm that says you won a giveaway that you do not remember entering.. you did not win anything and they are trying to scam you by forcing you to sign into a link to claim your prize. This is the among the most common scam tactics out there.

Be vigilant about phishing, and warn others around you about it too! As a community, it's our job to try to keep you all as safe as we can, and it's your job to protect those around you by informing them what can happen if they were to sign in. @everyone We hope you've had a nice Holiday! Unfortunately, with good in the world, there is usually bad to balance things, and we have a taste of that in the Rocket League Community right now. For those of you that actively trade, you may have already heard about this. There has been a new scam type that was recently discovered and has already been spreading like wildfire throughout the trading scene. This exploit allows people to essentially manipulate the trade window and make it appear like they are trading an item, for example, a titanium white octane, but only after the trade goes through is the item revealed to the victim as a rare blueprint. Due to the severity of this, it's likely going to be the most popular scam type aside from Phishing until it's fixed, and we hope a patch will be released ASAP.

However, there are ways to avoid getting scammed like this, I'll list some obvious red flags:
-They are persistent to have you TAP the accept button in the trade instead of holding it.
-Mentioning multiple times that their client is bugged and they might need to cancel the trade a few times for it to work, and that doing anything else will simply timeout the trade. This is merely setup for the scam to work.

If you see any of this when you are in a trade with another user, cancel the trade immediately and report them to our staff. Make sure to trade safely, and warn everyone you know about this exploit, this may become quite prominent until it's patched.

Parting Note:
We are only a few days away from the New Year, and I'm grateful that our community is still thriving with life after all of these years. We've grown substantially since Rocket League went Free to Play, and we've definitely tried our best when it came to putting in the effort to make improvements for the benefit of the Rocket League community. I've been staff here for over three and a half years, and it still humbles me to see a new face in the server, spending time here, starting new friendships, and helping to make memories that we will remember forever. On behalf of the entire Rocket League Garage staff team, thank you for participating in our community and making the world a little bit better with each passing day.

We started this community as a support server for our website, and it's grown far beyond what we had ever anticipated. Watching this Discord grow so much over the years has been nothing short of amazing, and we have you all to thank for it. This goes out to our Current Staff, Former Staff, Donators and supporters who have helped us in all types of shape and form. From those of you who just enjoyed starting conversations with other users, to those of you that referred your friends to the server to find trades none of this would be possible without you.

Words only get you so far, it is often said that actions speak far louder than words.
