I was playing at my school's chess tournament, (I was winning) when out of nowhere, the system flagged me that I was cheating and I lost the match because of that, and since only the top 8 in that tournament would qualify for the next round, I was eliminated due to this bug. I would like to ask how and why the system flagged me as cheating.

FYI i was in the math class with the organizer of the tournament, and they saw that i didn't cheat

also I tried contacting support on the lichess website, but it said to come here, but here the discord says that if i appeal here i will get removed from the discord server (and here it also says to go to the lichess appeal website)

The appeal is the correct contact point. How the organizers run their own event's is of course up to them

Maybe an endgame study was opened (by accident) at the same time the game was playing; i know the same can happen if you have your prep file open with engine on and enter a game and play the moves in your file

i tried looking for some sort of support email or something idk on the website, it redirected me to discord, and in discord they say that if i try to appeal here i'll be removed from the discord server

idk why lichess redirected you to discord to appeal, but that's not the right channel, and also not your fault

I would like to ask how and why the system flagged me as cheating.
You had another tab open with Stockfish running on the same position as your current game.
That is what triggers the "Cheating Detected"
