Yesterday I played a single game in the current 2+0 marathon. I won and because my deviation is high since I don't play rated often and because the opponent was high rated I won a lot of elo and reached a record. So far so good. That game was played on a computer which is still logged to lichess.
Today a friend sends me a message and ask me what's the top 500's point, cause he played all night and wants to know.
I'm in bed so I grab my phone and check on the lichess app, as I'm clicking the arrow to get to top 500 I'm suddendly paired up as though I had clicked to continue playing from the computer, I tried to abort but couldn't and lost a lot of point and my record with that. Unpleasant. I consider it a bug. It is a different device and i never clicked on continue either from the computer or my phone I should not have been paired up. Is that normal ? How would I check the tournament from my phone without wanting to play if I wanted to do just that ?
#Issue with paused tournament.

You have to pause the tournament
If you’re in the game from the tournament you can click the pause button on the side which will return you to the arena, but the tournament will be paused
If you’re in the tournament list you can click the pause icon on the bar above the listed players
@lunar agate I'm aware but you can also do none of the above and leave the computer/device on the last game you played
In this case you are still in a paused state, you are not getting paired up
That's when I opened lichess on my phone on the app, which logged me into the same account the computer is idling on
From there opening the tournament made me unpause the tournament and I got paired up on my phone, which is a bit intrusive behavior
you cheat-code paused it, when you left it it on a game. but when you logged in on your phone, you automatically went back into the lobby, and you got paired, like you were supposed to. if you want to pause it so you don't get paired, use the pause button, but it was your own work-around that caused the unwanted pairing.
Yeah I figured that was going to be expected behavior, but I would argue that if I wanted to be paired up I could also just click rejoin on the phone,
I also told you this
