#teammessage won’t reach my members

I have a team with over 8000 members, and always when i send a teammessage, barely people react to them. I am not chatbanned.
I just think that people don’t get notified (enough) whenever i send a teammessage.

my suggestion:
When people send teammessage, put them on top in the private messages for everyone in the team.

i just feel like sending teammessages is useless. We need to fix this! :) (maybe it’s even a bug..)

#

like it cant be true that whenever i send a teammessage for a tournament, only 0-5 people join the tournament…

why can't that be true?

#

I mean you can go and see how many un-subed.

If team messages are useless we should remove them 🙏

#

( i agree through, the current implementation message alot of people and it feels like spam. Ideally only the interested people see the invitation)

like yes they get the message, but only if they open the chat.

#

idk…

IMO, which is just that. I would let chat and PM's be just that. So remove Team Messages from them and put them into a new system - which works more like notifications. A new system is a big feature request through and I don't expect any changes here any time soon tbh

#

But if 99% of people get a message that they don't interact with - that's annoying for both the sender and the reciver. Multiply this with many teams every time ofc

What i sadly have to do is send tournament invites manually (not as spamming, just to my friends/loyalest members) which isn’t ideal for sender and reciver…

I would not expect anything for the foreseeable future

#

Does not stop me from hoping xD

#

But there are alot of other things to work on too

#

If you want to be realistic, maybe if team pm’s are implemented in the app we get something new. As that is always a good opportunity to refresh things

The current implementation mixes two very different things: private chats and team messages. If you send messages to a large team or are a member of many teams, all your private chats become cluttered with team messages. Half of your chats are constantly interrupted by team messages. You often receive team messages, but you don't unsubscribe from them because for example you are interested in 1 of the 20 messages and don't want to miss it. I used to respond quickly to private messages, but now I've learned not to respond to notifications about new messages. There are teams with 10 leaders, each of whom has several teams. If you need to find a team message from a month ago, you are unlikely to remember which of the leaders sent it. IMO team messages should be grouped by team, not by leader. I could go on forever about why team messages should be separated from private messages...

Wow, again, i have send a teammessage to over 8000+ people about the rapid liga, and only 2 people joined. How can this happen? please fix this, dear lichess devs..

Lichess devs can't make your team members respond to the multiple tournament invitations that you spam them with every hour, you have claimed that you can't get into enough of your tournaments every hour, so you must be sending out in excess of 70 messages a day and many per hour, so people have just started ignoring the constant barrage of messages.

people get sick of daily messages fairly quickly too. pretty sure it's not a bug. at least i know people are getting the messages in my team.

i got the messages from my teams today also

I don't like the way the messages get mixed up as a team leader, it's hard to find normal chats when you lead a lot of teams and even trying to find a conversation with someone from a few months ago you have to scroll past the one or two weekly tourney reminders you sent. I know they tried having the team messages at the top for a while but there were other issues with that so it was quickly reverted iirc. I think the best thing is to build a community so people feel invested in and loyal to the team so they want to play, you can't force people to play.

#

Also loads of people join teams on a whim with no intention to play, to have to realise this too

#

Plus people have lives etc

So yeah they should either put team messages on top again or invent some completely new team message system.

#

because it kinda makes me sad seeing having a team with 8,5k members but only reach 5-10 of them for tournaments.

Although nothing quite beats sending a message to the official 16k member team from your personal account and watching your inbox explode and not in a good way KEKW

Yeah but now we have an official messaging account for that team which is no reply so it solves that

well this is the official lichess team so it needed a messaging account to save the sanity and inboxes of the team leaders, you'd be amazed the stuff you get after sending simple team messages zoomhorror
