Good morning, I need help with my account.

Hey guys, I have a problem changing my password and name of account, and hopefully you can help me out.

I recently tried to reestablish my account's password because someone else created it (a chess teacher). So I decided it was time to change it after some weeks.

However, after doing the process it seems like it changed the password of an old account associated to my email ([email protected]), but I no longer want this account as it doesn't have any ELO registered and it doesn't have any of my studies either.

Can you please help me reestablish the password of the account that I actually want to have and also to associate it to my email?

The account has a name but NOT an associated email because as I said it was created by a chess teacher and he never associated it to an email account.

So in few words: I am not allowed to change my password and not able to change my email HELP.

Hopefully you guys can help, and, obviously you can check that I always use the same IP to connect to my account.

(When I try to change my password I get "incorrect password" which is nonsense as it should have not changed it's password but the older's passwords account):

Please help me out as I don't want to lose access, if possible please don't logout all accounts, otherwise I probably won't be able to login and will lose my access to the studies and played matches, thanks.

In sumary: can you please help me to disassociate my email from other accounts and associate it to this account: Andresfaja-FICM? that may solve all issues, thanks a lot.

The class teacher can reset password for managed accounts btw

So you need to ask your teacher to do it

Hey there. Yes I could ask him but the problem is why not allowing me to do it directly? After all it is my account and not his, on the other hand, he would know my new password and I am not so comfortable with someone else knowing the password.

It's not actually, the managed account belongs to the teacher as they created it after all - at least until it's graduated and your own email is added to it

When "graduateing" and account, they add an email to it

Oh, graduating means that they can add an email, ok. Sounds good, I will ask him to do it.

I don’t remember if that removes it from the class or not fyi.

But the point is that that the options the teacher need should be there

It’s fine to keep the managed account and make your own private one too - if you want a different username or something for example

Ok ,what if I want to remove (disasocciate) the email from the older account? I doubt he can do this.

Or at least replace the older account with another email

At a technical level managed account has an email that is @lichess.org i think- so they work differently

But, the older account has already assigned my gmail email, so I would need someone to remove it or at least replace it

I just called him (the teacher) and he said can't do anything about it:
"I only created it but if you changed the password I have no access to it".

Please HELP. I would really like to recover the account, if possible please help me to associate the email and then reset the password, please.

You ( the teacher ) get there by clicking on a student when looking at the class
