#The Lichess website often bugs when accessed through Mozilla Firefox

Hey,
More and more often, when I try to access Lichess.org through the Mozilla Firefox browser, it bugs: I see the page, with the big knight logo in the middle, but the squares with different timing options to launch a game aren't visible, and when I try to click on buttons on the side to launch a game, they just don't work. Each time this happens, I then try to get to the website through Microsoft Edge, and it works perfectly fine, so I guess it's related to Firefox (but all other sites work fine when I use Firefox). I can send a screenshot if required but it's not possible to upload it in this post.
I hope someone can fix this, good luck

I confirm. It used to happen once in a while, but since yesterday, it's systematic

Emmm lol that’s new

#

Do you have any extension enabled?

All these. I'm gonna try without

#

It doesn't change, the site still bugs

The link sends me to the usual page with the same bug.

#

The popup doesn't pop up ^^

#

even without the ublock extension

My best guess is that some firefox settings is the issue. I am not sure what, maybe disabling JavaScript or something like that?

#

Does Lichess work in incognito mode?

Yeah, so probably some firefox setting indeed , since we ruled out extensions.

#

I am not too familiar with them through, so not sure which one you should try turning off

Ok. I'll try to experiment with settings in the afternoon, I'll tell you later if it works. Thanks a lot

bro can see the resolution of my screen

#

wait lol i am going to use a useragent switcher and play on a smart fridge i wonder what lichess mods will think when they see that lol

#

wait nv

#

im going to do an xbox

#

lol lets play bullet on this

timid hearth
#

Mods can’t see all that. It’s why the debug has a send to lichess button, as we don’t have the info

oh damn

timid hearth

But yes, website can read quite a lot more than most realize.

#

how do you guys close ban evaders then

#

if you don't have access to the ip and stuff

timid hearth
#

What is pretty common, i think, is that you take a bunch of this info. Then hash it into a single value.

edgy heath
#

meh

#

you can bypass that pretty easy then

#

vpn, fingerprint spoofer, useragent switcher, etc

timid hearth
#

On lichess specifically, what mods can see depends on permissions. Some can see IP’s .

edgy heath
#

then how do you ban them then

This is getting a bit off-topic through, but you can look at the source code all you want. Or do the gitpod dev env to try things
