#Because u missed your last swiss game

that means you missed/didn't play the final pairing in your previous tournament, right?
so if there is a swiss tournament with many rounds that take let's say 3 hours and u pause at some point then u get a cooldown?
so if my opponent doesn't show up I have to wait for his time to run out instead of withdrawing?
how does this work?
it seems generic
the cooldown applies to all swiss tournaments
not just one organizer
is this a new feature?
it used to be off by default
are these changes announced somewhere?
it is annoying to have new rules retroactively enforced when u don't know about them yet
that's not what retroactive means
so I couldn't know about it
great! now you know so don't withdraw or ask the organizers to not enable it
well yea but would have been nice to learn some other way
and this doesn't work if u play in different torunaments
like original organiser might not have it but the others have it by default
so u can only play in tournaments by the same organiser
or it affects u
right?
that's the plan! prevent people joining multiple swiss tourneys and not playing in them
play in arenas if you want to do that
this will hurt smaller organizers
I joined because there weren't many players so that there could be a tournament
but it had many rounds
so couldn't play the entire thing
only like 2 out of 3 hours
if u have less than 10ppl then swiss tournaments aren't really worth it
and for some people if everyone leaves after 3-4 rounds, the tournament isn't worth it
they would rather not have the tournament at all
well it was hosted by an IM who hosts weekly and has a reasonably big team
everyone leaving is unlikely
now they have a higher barrier of joining
if they plan on playing any other swiss tournaments
I don't know what to tell you
He has a big team and still doesn't have enough people who would join his swiss and play till completion. Maybe he should host arenas or shorter (less rounds) swiss 🤷
the point is to have slower games and those don't really work in Arena format
there r like 10 regular ppl that usually watch his stream and join the tournament and the rest is made of random ppl
and random ppl don't seem to join after this change
so I really hope they thought this trough
seems there have been a lot of strange decisions recently
like this thing and allowing Dlugy play in an online qualifier
btw, does the cooldown get longer if u drop out more than once or is always the same?
This is not a playban cooldown, you are either allowed to join a tournament or not.
I'm sorry but this doesn't answer the question
u don't know?
it says it expires at a certain time but I wonder if it gets longer if it happens again
well yeah you can have playban alongside this, which I guess you have for aborting or ragesitting
I didn't mean play ban just this
like if u get this ban again by withdrawing again from another tournament once the ban expires, will the ban get longer or it is the same?
it's same
