#Unable to re-open a closed account (not a banned account)

Hello.. I'm trying to re-open an account that I closed voluntarily a while back, but I have no idea what email address I used to create the account (could be any one of numerous aliases and I've tried a lot of the ones I thought I might have used). It's a first re-open, so I have the opportunity to do it per the rules, but I see no recovery option for a forgotten email address! If lichess ever sent me an email regarding this account, I must have deleted it as I tried searching too.

I think if someone could trigger an email to the account email address, that would work - the email would come only to me as the account owner, so no security issue, and I'd then know which one I used and be able to re-open it.

Obviously there is no recovery option for a forgotten email adress jebaited Please contact [email protected] for that issue.

There could quite easily be, it's not obvious why there isn't, but I'll contact them there, thanks.

Well how do you verify if an account belongs to a user, if they don't know the connected email?

same way as thousands of other sites do it.. trigger an email to the address associated with the account. Who else would receive it other than the account owner?

But now I'm concerned.. are you actually saying that I simply need to know someone's email address in order to get access to their lichess account?
