looking for some advice, I don't know whether to go for a ruin staff and then start collecting FA gear, or just start saving up for alch gear immediately. I do plan to abandon DD once FA comes out, just don't know how long that will be, and how much money I'll need to dump into FA to bring it up to par to DD. The main incentive to go ruin I guess is to be able to start doing stuff like crom 100, glenn hm/vhm, bri(???) before FA comes out, but I'm just not sure? How much am I griefing parties by staying on demo?

for some context, I have MA weaving gloves and a pretty great demo staff right now, it's not max roll crafted but it is S7 and with maxroll enchants (arcane/nightfall), but that's pretty much all the noteworthy stuff. throwing my reforges on a gloomy atm and running finnachaid for my echostone when I can

you'll probably have 2-3 months before we get FA

that's really soon

#

it'd probably take me that much time, give or take a few weeks, depending on otr prices, just to get a ruin staff

#

so I guess just divert everything to alch gear now

#

would it be worth to stockpile set effect scrolls?

If the concern is Bang for your Buck, Stick with DD.

If you like alchemy and find FA interesting, start investing now. Yes to set effect scrolls, but hold them for a bit till someone pops in here with info on if Refined Cress will stack with Ceann. I don't think it does but i haven't heard solid info.
Weapon Mat prices are as low as they've ever been, minus the first day of Lep event. So if you're gonna build a new weapon might as well go for it! But a few "weeks" for a new weapon is actually building it very quickly, on mabi historically speaking.

Honestly, if you have a party that is the same level as you with Demo staff, you can clear crom 100s with practice. Slow runs, but you could do it.
