wait till someone gets a valuable weapon drop and its a lance (elf main) or bow (giant main). If the drops r solo dungeon entry... you think the MAIN REASOn would be to adjust item drops for the gender/race u are

Ya for being an event with a limited number of leprechauns (because running dungeons and not having a guarantee leprechaun is pain) plus low drop rates and RNG for gender plus it's soul bound to your character meaning it's trash if you can't use it plus it's all solo which means it's individual participation for the event. This is less of an event and more of punishing players and letting them pray for luck. They could have at minimum made maximum quality a guarantee drop because you will still have to put in all the work to max it out and I'd be fine with anything else having abysmal drop rates. I'm praying as the event gets closer to the end they significantly increase the rates of gear drop. Otherwise this makes me scared of "new rise" which isn't an event which means it's not going to have as generous rates as an event.

I would like to add that the drops have been bad even beyond just gendered gear. I heard a giant got a NB bow they can’t use, another player got a NB staff when they already had a Ruin staff, and lots of players are soloing crom and getting nothing worthwhile. There’s no big incentive to solo one of the hardest dungeons if you’re getting either equipment much weaker than you already have, or getting hardly anything to drop at all. This event has been incredibly stingy with weapon drops in general and I find that to be incredibly disappointing. 2 months of soloing content to frustrate ourselves in an MMO meant to be played with other people feels counterintuitive and unenjoyable.

I also just wish there would be at least some guarantee on the leprechauns you get when it comes to chrom. I spent hours running chrom solo and suffering only to get the lowest tier leprechaun each time

Yeah can we talk about how absolutely insane that is btw? "Congrats on soloing one of the hardest tier dungeons, here's a basic leprechaun that spawns nonstop in elite sms that can be done in under a minute." There should be a cut off to what spawns in what content. The basic tier leprechaun should not spawn in crom period or have a low chance to. Instead they don't. It's crazy and a spit in the face.

imagine you get the first Drobe drop, but it's not for your gender :)

wanting more from an event that effectively nuked the cost of nightbringer weapons, ruin weapons, destructive robes, and Irusan bells is absolutely crazy personally I think the event is very good and very rewarding for minimal amounts of effort.

# patent jasper wanting more from an event that effectively nuked the cost of nightbringer weapo...

I was kind of with you until "minimal amounts of effort". LumiShook It's, on a broad scale, rewarding in proportion to effort invested.

But yes, plz fix the gendered outfits.

@patent jasper the people getting the rare stuff are running a lot of dungeons, not just 1. That time investment is not minimal. It scales with effort, very rarely will you get something good in the first few runs.

  • Upon reflection we're talking about two entirely different efforts. You're comparing it to the effort to get the items without the event. I'm looking at the effort made to participate in the event to average out your chances at getting a rare drop. I wouldn't call running dozens of RAHM minimal effort, but sure. To get these items otherwise that is very little. The sentiment being you have to really buckle down and do the dungeons if you want the good stuff, you can't just run one or two and complain the drops are bad.

# bitter brook I was kind of with you until "minimal amounts of effort". <:LumiShook:1173921445...

getting crom mats from doing rahm and tech is quite minimal effort, prior to this event people would have to save up hundreds of millions of gold to make nightbringer weapons, now they get the materials and finished weapons for 1/3rd the price, not to mention the fact that it quite literally takes 1% the of the effort to do rahm compared to doing 10-12 crom 100s every week, this isnt even taking into account having the CHANCE to get items that are worth billions of gold for again 1% of the effort.

@bitter brook the event has been out for 3 days and halved the price of rare and expensive items already, it lasts for 2 months. so yes its very minimal effort i dont really think thats up for debate even if you just do the content caps every week, however you're fully welcome to disagree if you'd like.

I think the issue is that people putting in the effort to Crom30% are screwed over by the RNG chance of not having a Dapper, then if they do get a Dapper, it typically drops two erg mats that you get from other Leprechauns too. Folks want to be rewarded for the effort they put into this game, and more often then not they're given a middle finger.

This event when advertised made it sound like hazzah, we're getting a good lump of loot with far higher chances of Marbles, glas mats and BME's with a chance of a finished End-game Product. But its not even that. I was hopeful this event would be lucrative enough so players can get a boost in gear growth so more people can access end-game content.

Side note: The drop rate for the character bound/untradable items is so abysmal, that everyone is basically learning what the Dawnblade & VHM Diadem Drop-rate is like in mass scale now with this event.

stray quiver
#

the 30%s are free with inifinite revives and give you a chance for double marble, crom mats from the chest, AND leperchaun, if you don't think they reward you then uhhh nothing in mabi will ever reward you, this is genuinely the most rewarding mabi has ever been so its insane to me seeing this sentiment.

I think some of you have a very different perspective on effort if you think the chance for late to endgame gear (or the materials to craft such) being an accessible opportunity in what is now considered to be early to mid game content not enough in and of itself, then I really don't know what to tell you except you're stretching that gimme gimme hand out a little too far and a little too hard.

Personally I do think the event is nice but so far soloing 20 crom30s (last weeks and this weeks) gave only 3 dappers/crom mats... not sure if my luck is ass but I could've ran crom100 with my friends the same amount of times & we usually get more mats and don't have to play solo. hmmge

I don't believe anyone is stretching out "gimme gimme hand" in this case. Its more of the chance rates just seem unbalanced, specifically when you finally get a drop that has to just be trashed because it is the wrong gender and is effectively useless. It doesn't feel great when you put in hours of effort and that's the culmination of it. Either way this post feels like it has caused more discourse then it was meant to. It was just an opinion post just to share feedback. I'm closing it to prevent further problems.

Are we really out here saying an event that rewards crom mats, increased bme and ruin drop rates and even erg tap mats is not enough?
Even if you completely ignore the literal free nightbringer weapons, theres already so much going that makes this objectively one of the strongest events we've seen in a long time. If this doesnt please mabi players, nothing will.

It is a strong event, and I would like to point out, that with Dapper, you get a selection box, not an outright D-Robe. You will select the Sex of robe to match your character.

So the big ticket items are pretty much good to go as far as gender lock.

As for the other drops... I am okay with being lit of fire for saying this but I think the Geas gear is pretty affordable Clean on AH, and comparatively easiest to craft when put next to everything else that could drop from a Leprachaun. So even if you cant get one from event, you still have capability to get through the game with relative ease.

Soloing croms 30s is still a really weird option because honestly?
Irusan's room still feels absolutely icky, and this is exacerbated in solo.

I ended up dealing with: getting tricked every 5 seconds where I am unable to do anything, coupled with extreme mob aggro I just can't drop, topped with getting Ice Speared' + ronaun's fixing you in place repeatedly. I could barely get a hit on irusan themselves. Absolutely miserable experience. I know i can take on irusan, but all of this at once? Nope.

Moreover, spellwalk, being removed every trick really should be fixed because this makes playing mage in there absurdly difficult. (And of course, all buffs like vivace and seething mana get removed on death, so... no, the free res is not helping at all)

That boss room isnt about the boss itself, but every other single mechanic that was poorly designed. That room should be completely redesigned from the ground up; expecting players to solo this just feels dishonest, since either you already have the damage to nuke the cat super fast to avoid the entire thing, or you don't.

I was hoping to be able to gear up with what items i needed from crom drops, but if i have to deal with this, I'll just stick to lower-end content.

I'd get it if Dappers were locked behind Crom 30 (I wouldn't agree with it in the slightest, but I'd get it), but you have options. You have so many options; we have to eventually look at a point where we have to consider if the real roadblock is ourselves.

I'd wager the bigger issue is that alot of people aren't used to soloing Crom (or doing it all) so certain tasks they've always left at the discretion of someone else is inhibiting them(to give some examples, debuffing/hit checking/cc). If you don't wanna use the event time practicing, I get it but the fact they're giving free revives is as free as it gets or should get. If you don't want to be bothered because it eats up too much time to learn at the moment, man above just listed 3 wonderful options accessible to everyone, especially with VIP running.

Isn't this event 2 months long? Making it sound like it's already over...

Having some weird goblin show up with extra loot for that long is already quite a luxury, no need to give up yet

# ebon hemlock Soloing croms 30s is still a really weird option because honestly? Irusan's roo...

Old Irusan was honestly better because as long as you knew to use Rain Casting and how to use it the room was managable. New Irusan was specifically designed to be easier in a party where someone is able to target the mobs at all times. Ironic, given this is a solo event. [Granted, many players don't see this issue because they have enough damage to kill Irusan in a short cycle.]

This event is funny to me because its clearly a test run for KR's NEAR Patch as well as a way to get players ready for Bri Leith but looking at the player recorded rates, its actually a A/C/RAHM Drop Event masquerading as an all-content Drop Event. NaoWheeze

In fact I think public perception of the Event would've been better if Over the Rainbow Lep. drops only came from A/C/RAHM and you weren't incentivized to solo anything else.

My main complain is the rate that normal treasure leps spawn in crom. I'd be fine if it was like silver and higher, but doing crom 30 just to get hit with a normal lep feels kinda bad. Idk if my luck is crap but it happens fairly often. Silver at least gives erg mats and I will gladly take as many of those as I can.

My friends have been keeping records of their rate of leps across all activities. So far it looks like the rate is the same across all activities. I’ll have to try to compile all of their results so far.
