#Theta Entry Limitations

it shouldn't allow for it for the same reason it specifically not allowed for all limited content
because people (when this was allowed in KR) immediately started using it to carry alts
Its allowed in crom and glenn for us and other non-kr servers.
The alt issues is a thing sure but people also want to help their friends.
I'm of the opinion that there should be either no limits or they should be strict on those limits
no limits is preferable while at the same limits that fail to be proper limits and can easily be abused may as well not exist
there is no room for half baked decisions or it just hurts normal players
limits that fail to properly limit abusers just advantages them while disadvantages normal players who don't want to cheat (potentially risking action being taken against them)
For theta it would actually be fair. There are many things in place that stops people from easy alting it.
- Level+Skill requirements. You need techs unlocked, be level 30k+ and have skills ranked (this is important for the next point)
- You cannot use afk alts. Limited death count with auto revive and mechanics targeting random players. Someone would need to pilot the chars and at that point it’s fair again if they clear and get rewards.
- Theta uses the bankroll chest solution with extra restrictions. There is always 4 chests that get split between everyone running. Now the special part is that assuming a duo party when someone leaves the remaining person does not get 4 but still only 2 chests. This would very likely stay true when someone is at full runs.
I don't want more group content cut mabi ain't even an mmo at this point who cares if someone is using alts to get theta loot they're doing that anyway the only thing different is people that want to play with friends can't
Theta more has a problem with accessibility difficulty, where the curve of difficulty is high, and requires decent gear to do the run efficiently. To add onto this, not everyone runs fiber internet, so lag with Theta plays a big deal, can mean a difference of being wiped or not.
As for Limits, I'm with Kyori. Limits either are or are not, as Yoda has said, "Do or do not", same applies here, taking a middle route can result in issues. If accessibility is the issue, then what I've stated above should be focused on more than making limits a soft lock. Sadly Mabinogi is going the route of a Solo player heaven, and rewarding people for not performing a team play action in a team play content, and limits further encourage the means and motivation to play alone, especially how the loot drop system works currently.
ive ran and consistently cleared theta with not the best gear pre arcana with a party averaging 180+ ping
(ping is less of a big deal, moreso understanding of the content is key)
-nods- not arguing that it is impossible, but rather it takes a lot of understanding more than anything (the difficulty curve), secondary to that is latency. Armor helps in efficiency, as mobility is key, and well- having high % mobility gear, means spending high mobility money, thus being armor a force multiplier in this case.
What doesn't help, with understanding the content, is limits. Takes much longer to get better at something if its limited x amount of times per day/week.
If you don’t clear, you can practice as many times as you want. Theta dps used to be lance charge lol. The power creep now is so high, it’s easier than ever to access.
This is it. Bankroll Chests means there's next to no reason to ever alt Theta. The entry limit is only meant to limit reward spam, and Theta is very punishing so letting players carry their friends would not be an issue.
Theta is how all content should be, its nearly perfect with only a few flaws. I don't always run it but I've never considered it poorly designed.
