Maybe a bit niche but.
At the moment whenever you get a DM from a player you don't already have DMs open with, and get a notification of it, your player freezes in place until you click somewhere as if you've had your cursor put into a text entry field. This can be pretty annoying if you're in the middle of something dangerous, like a tech duinn mission or other high-end content.
This has annoyed my wife to no end when I message her when she's mid-feth ~u~;; and makes it hard to know when it's safe to DM someone. Setting yourself offline or to "in a minigame" is a kinda bandaid fix but you shouldn't have to cut yourself off from communication entirely because of something that seems like essentially a bug.

Do you move with WASD? I've never had this happen but I click to move so that could be why?
if you're clicking to move it ends it basically immediately, seemingly because you're clicking out of the invisible text field your cursor has been put in, but until you click no keys work for anything
also im not sure if this should have gone in #1167523171835068517 instead but it's such a longstanding thing so i went here
I imagine that comes from wasd not being the primary method of movement and that it was added later. Will probably not exist in Eternity because it will be integrated from the start. But dang that sounds frustrating
you'd imagine it they implement any feature, there won't be impediments, regardless if it was introduced at the start or later in the game. WASD is a staple in most games, and it should be refined.
Lol maybe in the ideal world of coding but we all know spaghetti code and adding stuff after the fact isn't always cooperative
Even if that is true, it's an impediment that should be addressed and not brushed off.
religious click-to-movers aren't even 100% safe, the only benefit they get is that they don't have to process what's happening before they can fix it. all hotkeys get locked out until you click again
it really does behave almost exactly like you're in an invisible text field. compare what happens when you pull up travel guide and it automatically puts your cursor in the gate/tunnel search
it's funny, the only window i want it to do that in is the Inv Serch XD and it doesn't do it there
omg exactly this!!!
