The event will be over soon and there's not been a single sale of Purple Heart Wings on the Auction House. In the future, I'd appreciate it if those wings could just be added to the Event Shop and not be a random prize from the Doki Doki Commemorative Box. Let randomized boxes like that give out Erg Mats and Totems. All the nice event cosmetics should be earnable.

Overall, I am really happy with the Event Shop this time around, and I really enjoyed Doki Doki Island this year! There's been a lot of things I earned, and the rate at which you earn Gold Flowers is very fair, so I do believe y'all have made good on your promise to tailor events to not need alts to be able to collect all the prizes.

However, the drop rate for the Heart Wings this year is so low that it literally does not exist on the server, or if it does then the few people that did pull it are all people that plan to keep them. 'Cuz there's none on the market. I'm usually forgiving of gachapon-style event boxes if I can at least have a chance to buy what I want from another player on the Auction House. The Purple Heart Wings were what I was looking forwards to the most, so I hope if we get Doki Island reruns every year from now on, for them to be released in a more fair way in the future, please.

same, I haven't heard of ANYBODY getting these wings. I'm honestly not sure if someone forgot to actually add them to the prize pool

Considering the Pink, Blue, and White ones were available in the Event Shop when those were the wing prizes, it's silly that just a purple recolor of something that was developed a long time ago is such a rare drop to get, if it's even in the prize pool at all. Very first Doki Island we ever got the heart wings were purchasable with the Cat Eye gems (which was the event currency back then). Purple is my favorite color so I was excited to try to earn or buy them, even though I already have the white ones. But it's literally impossible.

it absolutely has no business being that rare - do they give stats, look exceptionally great as if they'll outperform gachas, or pose a threat to the AH? Why they gotta be nx gacha-levels of rare lmaoo.. wonder what's wrong with being liberal with freeish, probably harmless stuff? man fergy

its not just the wings... all the equipment and homestead kits in the doki box are basially non existant too
look at the number of "Ballet" items on AH not marked (Shop Purchase)

I was also very much looking forward to the Purple Heart Wings, and have been very disappointed to see they're basically non-existing. The rates of these being available seems abysmal at best.

I had the same disappointment when I wanted to get the Marvelous Merch Cart and Lemonade Cart from the Connous Beach Vacation Event, only to find practically none on the auction house being sold. They were seemingly rare enough drops from the Grade 5 Magical Piece drop list that towards the end of the event, I remember seeing at least one Lemonade Cart having been sold for 95 mil! The utter scarcity of these cute little event items I look forward to just sucks the fun out of them for me. DevCatCri

There are, and it's not likely I think? This current box adds "Lovely" into the name, and if we were getting like, the 2022 boxes, we'd be getting white and light pink heart wings and such. It does just seem like it is the new box just with really, really bad or erroneously non-existing rates for the purple heart wings, and possibly the equipment and homestead kits mentioned. :C

There was two "Romantic Ballet Dancer Wig (F)" on auction that didnt have the (Shop Purchase) meta-info.
so, they would necessarily had to have come out of the box, as there is no other source.

the box having a different name, and descriptive text... means its a completely new item.

and yea, there was a slim possibility that it was a new item, connected to an old drop list / but thats been disproven

Oh okay, then yeah this IS the proper 2024 box drop pool, thank you. Then the case is that the Purple Heart Wings are either an extremely low chance to get from this box or erroneously not available from it at all. Guess we'll know if we ever do see one around, but either way it's still very disheartening to just not see this cute reward floating around.

i think this also raises a bigger question (that i feel we all already know the answer to which is no): are rates for event boxes ever adjusted with NA's population in mind?

We've had decent wing drops before, i remember the year we had white heart wings they were in the box instead of the Event Shop, and it wasn't hard to buy the White Heart Wings from players, but definitely this year we did not get drop rates tailored to our server population at all. That, or the drop rate was tailored to the NA population that included alts, and now that they pushed heavy anti-alt policies (and a lot of players quit over Tech Limit update), the actually active players running the event now isn't enough to spawn it.

the drop rates for everything in general is very discouraging, but for gacha items (event boxes included) especially it feels horrible

if you think back just a little bit, We had Yuri Valentines event... there was lots of loot (old clothes) in those boxes and everything was gettable.
there was plenty of supply on AH to buy whatever you were missing.

And even New Old Fish Traps... everyone got 2000 of those.. and we did hear talk of some people getting Black Bags..
so it is possible to have reasonable drop lists inside event loot boxes.

even the last sweet coffee event. i got 2 pet whistles out of that. that should be considered a valuable drop.
-- So its not entirely a lost cause. event loot boxes are not always garbage. Nexon does know how to program one thats reasonably fair.

we dont know whats actually going on, but my theory would be that this one has been influenced by previous doki doki events.. 2014, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2022..
maybe they reused some code or distribution pattern table, from those older events, and they may have been "less fair" from a players eye.
-- in short, i dont expect every event to be terrible
-- its just that THIS one is incredibly terrible
Now, almost all the new doki items are also available in Karenza's shop. so we're not stuck.
Except for the "Purple Heart Wings", which are a brand new item and ONLY listed as a Doki Box drop... so on this one item, we are totally stuck.
And its going to be a mind bogglingly bad look, if NONE are found. (An entire REGIONS worth of players, were not able to find ONE drop.)
At this point, we should ask that the item be re-released in the next doki doki event, and that it should be shop buyable, in addition to any loot box sources.
(I was also expecting the Prep Heart set (2022) to be re-released in the next doki event, as im still missing half the set ShepL )

at this rate I'd even accept it being added to the next gacha boxes once Doki Doki ends (assuming it's not like 0.10%, maybe 0.18% or more)

i get the feeling they cant do that.
if an item is gacha, you're probably only going to see it again in another gacha.
if an item is event, at best, its only going to be in another event.
Im not sure if they have internal company rules on this, but they dont ever seem to cross sources....
course im sure there's a handful of examples among 10,000+ items... but in general, the convention holds

idk I'm still salty from the old fish traps cause I didn't get the bag coupon which was the main thing I wanted other than the homestead figures and I didn't even get the complete set myself I had to trade for the elephant ruairage

I was lucky to get the black bag coupon myself and bought all the homestead items off of auction house for the recent fishing event. Even though they were expensive, it was still do-able. But these purple heart wings either don't exist or by the time someone finally finds one it'll be like only 1~3 on the server and it'll cost like 900 mill or something crazy. (or there could straight be none spawned on NA at all)

if you try looking up any of those Doki exclusive items in the AH, every single item comes up with (Shop Purchase) in the name. now, mayyyybe people are getting these items and are choosing to keep them, but isn't it just like............. a TINY bit odd that NONE of these items seem to have come from the event box?

Honestly this whole thing has been super upsetting. I was already upset due to the massive changes to the way the island looks etc and this on top of it is just smh The color purple is also my favorite color and I really want to get those wings. I know it does seem really strange that everyone I am talking to say the same thing. Only trash from those boxes and none of the event items. Not even one.

can confirm I've seen mag mell passes, but any actual cosmetics or homestead items... I've not seen a single one from my boxes.

Would've been great to have something like a pity shop, or a trade-in/recycle points for unwanted rares (as highlighted in red in above pic), then say we trade in 2-3 of those points for 1 other rare, etc.

I think its mostly fine since its sort of clear you weren't supposed to get many, if any, of the Coin buyable items. It might be good to give rates or at least general rarity so people don't get confused though.

This box was particularly bad though, but that's Korea-designed events \o/.

Putting the Heart Wings in the boxes is just silly though, because it creates an artificial desire for another low effort reskin that doesn't update the visual effect.

So after opening about 400+ boxes not even 1 event item. I mostly got trash, a few passes and Tech Duinn Mission Additional Entry Pass but like to me all I got was trash since I just about destroyed all the passes as I had said already.

I am going to be honest it seemed like the event items were not even in the boxes???? What gives?? I mean I guess I will just ask are they even in the boxes????????

Well I wish someone at Nexon would double check and report back to us. Like I am not trying to be mean or anything.. I am just sad. I really wanted those Purple Heart Wings and it would have been nice to get a few extra on some of the other event items like the homestead stuff.

this is likely another case of 🧍‍♂️ tfw they forgot to adjust rates for na again

there's been events previously (eg.the one with scout bag) with equally as atrocious rates where nobody pulled good

So lets just say they forgot to adjust the rates then it sure would be nice if they would like fix the rates and refund the boxes so people would at least have fair chance at getting what they wanted.

This is what 160+ boxes gets you rooflemao (pickaxe not included)
I got more diet potions than I know what to do with (like 12), a grand total of 2 abyss pass boxes was my highlight from this haul.

Now that the event has ended, I've never gotten anything good either from the boxes. Despite it being the new box, it's definitely not adjusted for us. There's no way it is.

I've only ever gotten stuff listed outside of the red line marked areas just like Snowie has earlier in the thread here. All basic stuff that outside of ingots I npc'd or used the trash bin to remove.

I've also never seen anyone with, wearing, talking about having, AH listed or anything dealing with the purple heart wings. As it was said earlier as well, I'd like to see these just be added to shops in the future instead of some impossible rate rng box that you're gonna see like a 50,000:1 return on or something.

I'm surprised things aren't adjusted for NA, is it Nexon strongarming Nexon NA into keeping rates the same?

I feel like someone should've noticed that we just can't have extremely low rates because we don't have enough people playing the game

Korean Players complained to Nexon that the rates should be the same between all servers as much as possible + even if the Devs weren't listening to Korean Players (and they often don't for things like this) they would still need to actually go in and edit the rates which is more work than not.

you can see it when comparing between na gacha and kr gacha %s so it's fairly reasonable to assume we have adjusted event rates for our population

dungeon drop rates were (previously) (maybe still even now after the update) contentious because it was commonly presumed we had kr unadjusted rates for our population

correct me if im wrong, but the only NA-specific rate adjustments off the top of my head are gacha and how many ptj it takes to trigger phaea's blessing

If that's actually true, I really hope they don't listen to KR sentiment over NA. If they want to continue making money on NA server then they need to do what will make the NA server happy. If an event has a gacha-type prize with the nice event rewards being limited to gambling-mechanic only, then the rates need to be fair for our small server population. KR drop rates does not work on NA.
