I've seen people use Final Hit and Hailstorm to great effect in the second hallway. As elf archer, my strategy is Crash Shot with some Magnums (I have the area splash effect on my bow ego)

i would like to put my ego points in to other things, are there any other non-tuan ways of just slowing the balls down other than fantastic chorus?

Clouds might work? You could also try using Vivace as your bard buff instead if you still need to go faster.

need the damage from bfo but i might try relentless assault

I just use pulse of purification. When it ends, the last explosion kills any remaining balls and the orb can be hit
