#Unable to Move When Using Archery

This is the third time this has happened to me since the update today. Every now and again, while in combat (it’s only happened to me in Fiodh, too, for some reason), I’ll suddenly become unable to move at all. I can’t switch weapons, I can’t switch out of combat mode, I can’t mount my pet, I can’t use any other skills, I can’t transform (I get an error that says “You can’t transform in your current state.”). The only way out of it is to get an enemy to hit me. I think this is an issue with Arrow Revolver, as Arrow Revolver gets grayed out when I’m in this position. Has this happened to anyone else? I don’t know if I should report this bug or if it’s so hyper-specific I should just live with it, haha

not sure about human archery(idk if there is much diff tbh....ah, I'm elf, mostly archery play) but...unable to move seldom happen to me but it still happen all the time to me since i start playing mabi (simplest way is to just relog or change channel and it will be fixed----it shouldnt be too much of a hassle as we can now reenter many missions, like Dg and Tech, Crom.....etc)
Idk other players btw*, might just be my case only idk, but i have seen many cases of such when i play with friends or random

If this has only happened with today's update, I will test it with you.

It looks like something's gone wrong in a skill execution and it's causing your character to lock in place, and since changes were made to the skills with this update that's likely the case. If you are not an isolated case, then this needs to be resolved. Otherwise I would suggest repairing your installation as there may have been an error while patching.

The more information you can give about when this occurs the better it can be solved:

Can you confirm this happens immediately after combat?
Are you always in a party when this happens?
Does this occur if an ally kills an enemy you are aiming at?
What skill are you using when this occurs?

Hey, Giegue! Thanks for the help! Yes, this has only happened with today’s update. I will try to get my wife to test it with me later today and see if it happens to her, as well. (She is also a human, so if the issue is Indeed Arrow Revolver, she should be able to replicate it, if it’s not an issue on my end solely.) I will also try to repair my game!

Some answers to your questions!

Can you confirm this happens immediately after combat?
It happens prior to hitting an enemy, and it does not happen all the time. It seems to randomly freeze me some of the time when I press to load Arrow Revolver.

Are you always in a party when this happens?
No; the first two times I was soloing. Trying to find out other variables, such as “does it only happen when soul linked”. I tend to get hit more when I’m not soul linked, however, which may break me out of the stance before I even notice I’m trapped, so, that’s an issue, haha! I also was using a Demolition Breaker Bow, the same one every time, so perhaps I should try crossbows and stuff as well.

Does this occur if an ally kills an enemy you are aiming at?
As the first two times it happened when I alone (and my pet was on support mode), I don’t think this is the cause of it.

What skill are you using when this occurs?
I honestly am on autopilot when I fight but I think it’s Arrow Revolver because every time it’s been grayed out (so, on cooldown). However, never once has this happened in the midst of Arrow Revolver. Like, if I get my first shot off, it won’t happen. I also don’t see a skill above my head (as you can see in the video) when I get frozen, so it appears it only triggers some of the time when I press the button for the skill.

Similar bugs used to happen a lot with a few other skills and the only way out of those was to get hit or use the skill again. Sadly only the former seems to work in this case.

Alright, guys, has happened three more times today! I had GeForce set up to record my last five minutes when I pressed a button, so I was able to capture exactly what I was doing previously to this happening.

It does seem to be an issue with Arrow Revolver. The first time, someone kills the mob I was targeted on. The second time seems to happen for no discernible reason — and I’m also not soul linked, so soul link isn’t the problem, either!

I’m going to try taking off my combo card and seeing if it happens again. I don’t think it’s a problem with the combo card, but Wife thinks it may be

I have a Demolition Breaker Bow, she’s using a Celtic Royal Crossbow, but she’s also tried with a Highlander Long Bow

Switched to my very old Masterpiece Bow, it happened again! I will submit a video of the last two times in one minute 💖 I don’t know if the videos help but I think it’s like. Something, at least, haha

Encountered this bug again while commercing! Forgive the fact that there’s a curse word in the song I’m listening to, I frankly wasn’t consciously watching out to be frozen again, it just Happened. This is the fourteenth time I’ve gotten this bug.

Happened three more times today 🫠 I thought it was maybe lag-related but it’s clear skies for me in Mabi today yet it happened again. I cannot for the life of me work out what the linking factor is

I actually got frozen on the boss room, and leaving the shadow mission didn’t help, so this time I had to turn on EvG and get a Giant-allied friend to come beat me up a bit

I did get one interesting video. It’s this moment where it appears I got stuck for a fraction of a second, but then I somehow free myself. I can upload that if anyone needs it

Not sure if this helps or adds anything but I can confirm this happens to me as well when using arrow revolver. Around a total of maybe 5 times. Cant say for sure what triggers it but normally I will remain frozen for a while or if im really unlucky, unless an enemy hits me

Miimoo! Sorry to hear it’s happening to you too, but glad I’m not alone! Do you use a desktop or a laptop? Have you noticed anything in common with the times you’ve gotten frozen?

Hey Aushy, I'm using a desktop. For me personally, I know it usually happens when I'm using ctrl + right click to quick fire all the shots. Am currently running as a harmonic saint and am using a bhafel bow set.

Usually it happens in a shadow mission or dungeon but it actually happened to me once when I was doing the Festia minigame: clobber meister. My bow is also spirited.

I'll post more if I find anything else. I've been enjoying the skill alot so i"ll probably run into the same problem again eventaully :p

You are right it's Arrow Revolver's issue. Happened to me a few times but i can avoid it now.
I think it happens when you try to attack with Arrow Revolver, you click left mouse button to fire the arrow/bolt and then right after this (exactly right after firing the ammo) you hit the right-click.
Since I noticed that and try to fire the ammo in the way I want (one at a time or all at once), It never happened to me again.
I use spirited Celtic Royal Crossbow but I just tried it with a Demonic Infinite Bow and seems it's like mentioned above. Arrow Revolver icon is grayed out when this happens.
I hope it will be addressed soon.

oh on this topic, i remember having a guild member say it happens to them when the target mob is killed mid-use of AR. trying to replicate it now, but having trouble figuring out how lol

ok while i was unable to even get that one to work, i did notice that it happened a few times with another issue ive been having, wherein itll auto use the skill after i load it on the targeted enemy (ive had many failed cleric in 7 nightmares from this happening with hailstorm) even though i have auto use after targeting setting off. i beleive this one is sometimes linked to yet another issue ive been having where pressing middle or right click to move the camera wont "release" the camera on button release. unsure how to reliably replicate those issues but i had another friend say the camera issue happens when the cursor goes off screen when moving the camera

i noticed something in the videos: in all but the 4th one, i noticed hat the skill fake cancels itself. the balloon disappears for a second before nocking the next arrow, or just doesnt load the next shots
edit: just checked this out. mine disappears for a fraction of a second each shot, barely noticeable, but doesnt bug me. maybe its a latency issue or the skill just taking too long?

Does the issue persist with a crossbow?

I know some of the rules regarding movement and archery are different with xbows.

Happened 9 more times tonight 🥹 It’s really hard to run even SWE, let alone content, when other people can clear a room and leave you stuck and unable to get your rewards. It’s made me wary to do SWE runs or do content with my guild because my most used skill is bugged 😔

Can relate. For a while I wasn't having the issue however yesterday it happened twice. I know I should probably hold off using arrow revolver but I enjoy using it 😭

also a fix for if you do get stuck.
if youre elf/giant/aligned, turn on evg and let them smack you a good one and you should be able to move again and get your rewards

some shadow missions iirc will let you do actual PVP, but evg can be done WHEREVER. you just have to be careful during the on/off cooldown lmao
