Hello.

Since I've started playing Mabinogi I've been noticing a huge power difference between me and my friends who I run some content with.

I'm an elf that uses dual guns and I also enjoy Magic.

What are some of the things I can do to significantly increase my damage?

Also I'm fairly new and have no proper idea of how upgrading works...I use blaanid weapons cause I don't know how to make anything stronger.

Please help.

This is a loaded question. let's get the main quote out of the way. Do what you have fun with.

#

Now that's out of the way, I'll emphasize how you can get stronger with what talents your into ATM.

#

For magic...

#

A good starter would be ego 63, to get the ego ultimate and casting speed increase for hail storm.

#

Those are vital as they increase attacks per second and increase damage cause +2 change per cast for int magic.

#

2nd is demo staff, which is a huge jump in damage from Celtic cause of enhancements and pierce.

olive ingot
#

Ohhh okay so lvl up ego to lvl 63

#

The dmg on staves contribute to magic damage?

#

The min max I mean

gritty rover
#

3rd, reforges for staff. Especially. Magic Attack reforge.

#

Yes, just slowly listing. Lol. X3

olive ingot
#

Okay I'll wait till ur done

gritty rover
#

Each point of MA reforge gives 4 MA. 20/20 would give you +80 MA, which is huge.

#

You can also get those reforge on silk weaving gloves, which is another 20 points of MA reforge. But you can't repair it, even than, the durability goes down slowly.... If you don't weave silk.... Lmao

#

It's worth by many people's accounts.

quartz blaze
#

An alternative to that would be rosemary gloves as they boost ice damage by +15%, and are repairable.

gritty rover
#

Another is saint Bard, which is the arcana. Link 5 gives 200 MA.

quartz blaze
#

True, but it boosts hailstorm damage.

#

Though I think it only becomes better than silk gloves over a certain MA threshold.

gritty rover
#

It's all preferable to what you want to do more damage with. Silk gloves great with fireball, meteor, lightning rod, and fusion bolt. Rosemary for Hail Storm.

quartz blaze
#

As for growing 'powerful', take a look at Cryozen7's guide for ' best in slot'

gritty rover
#

That doesn't help on how to proceed with magic.

quartz blaze
#

It outlines the best enchants and reforges

gritty rover
#

With that guide's layout, it'll tell you to go enchants first, which is not good for magic.

#

Magic enchants are preferably best saved for last with how small they increase your MA for how expensive they are.

quartz blaze
#

Well they did say in their original question that they use both dual guns and magic

#

Boosting damage can be an expensive game - totems, titles, enchants, reforges

gritty rover
#

Yes, but just to clear out confusion, I'm going with magic first.

#

Magic is its own damage source

#

Max damage covers all talents except magic and alchemy

quartz blaze
gritty rover
#

Continuing with magic, there are gears that you want to get as well, even though they're expensive. Though I say it's better to get these before enchants.

#

For head, you want to get magic attack head gear, namely langhu circlet, or either ultimate geas circlet. Langu is cheapest, but +10 MA for around 40m+. The others aren't much cheaper sadly.

#

Already talked about glove options.

#

Body, Lord of Seas, which is nearly unobtainable, gives lightning rod enhancement. It's great though, but there's also something better and more expensive.

#

Special Elemental Harmony, which increases all elemental magic damage by 15% (correct me if wrong ) is best.... But it's from gacha and expensive as heck. Still better investment than ES imo.

#

Lastly, shoes, which you want speed. Basically fleet feet/forest ranger boot, which increase +10% speed... Or elemental harmony shoes which gives +15% speed while mana shield is active.

chrome forge
#

ele harmony is additive +15% to the value of the 3 element masteries so its not literally 15% more damage overall but its still the best mage armor overall

gritty rover
#

That's also other many bells and whistles, like redoubled offensive enhancement from from ultimate geas set, and the new glen armor, but those are out of reach for a lot of us. You can ask if you want to know.

#

Oh yeah, ruin staff, which is not something you want to worry about with a demo, since it's not a big jump with how expensive it is. And piercing enchants, which increases piercing of your weapon.

#

That's it for magic as far as I know.

chrome forge
#

ult geas isn't really needed since mage has enough specialized gear for all the slots but if you really wanted to you would do the circlet+shoes

gritty rover
#

Mhm

chrome forge
#

movement speed is hard to give up once you're used to having it tho

gritty rover
#

Expensive as heck though since you want a good MA roll and ro 10.

#

Now guns

#

Let's umbrella that to Max damage!

#

Easier to digest cause max damage enchants is very cost effective atm.

#

So follow that guide for that.

#

Now for reforges, there's so many because so many classes goes for max damage.

#

For a class, you want to prioritize certain reforges over others, which the guide can show you as well.

olive ingot
#

Question, is magic not the most powerful skill set? If so what is...I primarily do all my content solo cause I ain't got much friends. 😆

gritty rover
#

You always want speed feet like fleet feet or forest ranger shoes.

gritty rover
#

Though, magic excels in AOE more than single target.

#

There's classes that excel magic in single target way harder. Especially archery and fighter.

#

Guns is somewhat AOE, so going magic and guns is redundant to point.

chrome forge
#

low str on elf will hurt early on

gritty rover
#

Yeah......

#

Elf here....

#

Earlier game is pain

chrome forge
#

starting with guns early is not advised because gun skills themselves don't give much str+int

gritty rover
chrome forge
#

it gives mostly hp for some reason

#

you'd have to get the str and int from elsewhere

gritty rover
#

My advice to you as an elf, rank up all your skills to get all the stats you can get.

#

And keep rebirthing and leveling up.

#

Get all the free stats you can.

#

I'm also f2p, so that's another thing to consider from my advice.

chrome forge
#

training skills is no longer the hard part of mabi, its mostly a bunch of time-gated stuff you have to work through nowadays

gritty rover
#

It's not that hard, yes, but I'm just emphasizing because it will help you with a lot of damage and a lot of survivability. You can also translate it to making money as well.

#

Even though we get a lot of stats, your progress is mostly based on how much money you can get, and how you use that money to get better gear.

#

I think this is all I can think of for now for your progress into stronger

olive ingot
#

Thank you very much for the insight...I've really learned alot from you guys. My F2P solo journey will be one for the times seyalorna

slender kestrel
#

LOL

#

If you want affordable magic...

#

Like langu circlet +7 MA

#

Is your cheapest option

#

Prof silk weaving gloves

#

Play with journeyman reforges to get a r1 one then rollllll

#

Shoes i usually still prefer fleet feets mvmt shoes

#

But honestly weapons matter for magic

#

You only get.so far with a celtic druid

#

Before u wanna hit a demo staff dmg

olive ingot
#

Demo as in demonic or demolition?

slender kestrel
#

Demolition deepglow staff

#

Since you essentially want piercing

gritty rover
#

The main stat you want on professional weaving gloves is durability, and the most it goes to is 27

shy flower
olive ingot
#

I got a celtic guardian staff

gritty rover
#

Decent start

slender kestrel
#

Just focus on upgrading that then get your skills to r1

gritty rover
#

Make money on the side too
