I started playing again about two weeks ago and I've completed the memoir/story up to G11. I really miss the social aspects of this game, it is a lot more fun being with other players for content. The first time I played this game was around 2009, so if you want to feel nostalgic about this game with me, I'd love that!

My in game name is "Bifflz", feel free to add me. I'm down to friend veterans or new players, though I especially have a lot of questions for veterans lmao

What jobs are best for a returning player/easiest to fund? Though I tend to go with the flow of what I find most fun to play... dual guns right now has my attention (would it be difficult to invest in it?) I was trying out chain as well, but I'm stuck on Baltane missions and missing the 3 chain skills related to it. I did see in another post that magic is a solid option. Regardless of what jobs I might stick with, I definitely need guidance for gearing myself, I've never really gotten into that part of the game before.

Also, recommendations for what life skills to work on first. I've been doing some carpentry and herbalism/ecology for selling stuff, but also potion making so I can make my own because why not.

Erm...those question are quite 'brief' so i will just say what is in my mind atm, Dual guns is good for speed clearing monster(if your ping is good), however dual guns dmg isnt 'that high' so it's rarely use in higher-tier mission like Tech Mission and above(still usable if you invest a lot in it).
Chain....the Era of chain slasher...in my opinion it already ended long ago (nowadays it's usually use as supportive talent, like Death Mark for more dmg, grouping *spinning slasher and Death Mark also, and burst....Bachram explosion) + Bachram reset nearly all Cooldown of skills (except like transformation and etc)
Magic...i believe what you saw or read is Hail storm (With Spirit lvl 21)--hail storm alone with a newbie staff like druid staff will do fine untill ADVHM level stuff imo...anything more than that it's not dependable except meteor as burst...(you need Demolition or Ruin staff to see the 'Meta Dmg' that people keep talking about + gear)
Life skills...i suggest you to do those easier life skill which give you abundant of stats (w/o the need of too much materials) first, and do the harder/more time consuming one later.

in this game, mabi...whatever you do is fine (cause you can rebirth unlimitedly) so everything is up to you entirely.

if you have a recommended talent that you think is most worthwhile to put money into, i'd love to hear about it. for example i said i was playing dual guns since they were fun, but wasn't sure if it was worth funding with gear.
i play human btw, totally forgot about race stats for a sec

my view is that close combat(melee)---2hand sword like Divine Blade(and erg it to 45 or 50, preferably 50 but it will cost A LOT, like estimate close to 1bil to erg), due to the Elemental knight(known as EK, arcana). It will be a year and few months before new arcana is introduced in NA server (i estimate, KR will get new arcana...unkown which one though in Late 2023, or september++ i forgot and lazy to check).

I dont know much people invest in dual guns though, even after the renovation. so...i dont think it's good to invest in dual gun as your main talent(just my view....)...surely you are not gonna use dual gun to dps on a boss right????(i never see anyone do that unless they use timeshift like in Purification(Tagar)

Dual guns is for speed killing (weaker mobs with lower hp/defensive stats)

still usable in higher-tier mission if you invest a lot but not too efficient compare to others like EK and Meta Magic nowadays

most human play close combat nowadays too (or have a Divine blade) + gear for close combat (like smash reforged, FH reforged, etc), though i dont have any human friends that still FH frequently during runs....EK is just too 'meta' today in term of burst which has low CD

Added you. Also it's so surreal that I, who had around total level 3600 or 3400, have been treated as a newbie player by the latest major patch. The latest major patch is CRAZY.

do blaanid's quest and ur total lvl will increase quickly

Pretty much what SA said, doing Blaanid's Brave Boost will give your character a great kickstart on old or new characters.
