Painfully small UI at 3840x2160

My game's UI is SO small at my base monitor resolution. Is there any possible way to make it bigger? It makes it really hard to see my hotkeys when fighting or doing content.

I've tried dpi scaling through windows, I tried reducing the resolution of the display itself (not recommended, makes the game look really bad/blocky/pixelated), giving client.exe itself full permissions, everything I can think of. I'm honestly at a loss.

Does anyone have an idea on what to do here?

note: I do not have small skill icons enabled. If i did, they would somehow be even smaller than that.

The highest resolution its recommended to play at is 1440p

Theres no UI scaling to help ya unfortunately

As demi already said. Mabi sadly has no proper UI scaling.

Higher res monitor means lower UI

All you can do is to use a lower res screen or find a way to zoom in on your inventory

I believe windows' built in scaling feature would help.

I use a 4k monitor and don't have issues with ui doing this. Do this to both the client.exe and the mabinogi.exe. Right click mabinogi in steam library and click the manage then browse local files to get to them then right click each one and go to properties then click compatibility. Then click Change high DPI settings button in there and set it as what I have in pictures. Also im running game in borderless full screen mode also I don't have compatibility mode on its off for both mabinogi.exe and client.exe

Yeah no, no change. I tried both scaling overrides and it's still the same. I'm not sure what i'm doing different than you.

I have my system's scale layout like this, i'm not sure if that's conflicting with it

I'm running a 4k monitor too and the method Undeadtyman provided definitely works

just make sure you don't go back into the game and change around the settings, because that will make your ui go back to default, tiny ui

also from the images above, you don't have to have the box checked for Program DPI, only the High DPI scaling override is needed and should be on System

I set my scale size to 200% and matched your settings exactly. I followed @gray anvil 's advice as well and tried it his way- both do not work for me. I'm not sure how to proceed.

Also, new happening: trying to change any resolution setting in the game itself hard-crashes my game now.

It actually made it even more unplayable, somehow.

@late nebula you on a laptop? Also I'm launching the game through steam.

Try installing it on steam and do the setting's I did maybe then it will work for you

and if you already are using steam verify integrity of game files

Also it looks like you are using windows 11 but them pictures you sent with the dpi setting why are the check marks not blue like mine?

Also I play in windows borderless

Oh, that’s a difference we have. I was using the Nexon Launcher. I’ll try through steam and see if that works.

And the dpi picture was from windows 10- I just recently upgraded to 11. I’m hoping that doesn’t mess with the game.

The steam version's UI scaling is noticeably bigger than the Nexon Launcher version, for some reason. That seems to have fixed it.

Now if I could figure out why pressing OK in the options menu instantly crashes the game, i'd be perfect lmao
