Main purpose of 3.0 is to provide continued support so that the resource can actually be utilized on servers.

  • Improved loading times significantly

  • Loading on a semi decent computer 5-10 seconds

  • Slower computers may still take a little longer, however speed is still better

  • Refactored a lot of the code to improve efficiency

  • Added building support

  • VASTLY improves performance

  • Adds proper grass support

  • Added proper LOD support with way better draw distances

  • Vehicle lights and shadows now properly illuminate the ground

  • Rain effects work

  • Changed over to solely use new IDS to not effect the normal map (Can still be used as an option if more IDs are required)

Working on world effects and updated water support at the moment.

This is amazing. Would love to someday integrate it into Sphene, when we move on to adding GTA VC support after GTA SA

Couple things I need to fix on it and I will have a test build up likely tomorrow if you're interested in giving it a try. VCxLC will be loaded in.

@wooden birch I'm working on support for occlusions. Cannot reproduce the actual SA occlusions but it'll be similar.

Early build pushed to Eagle Loader nightly. Note, it is heavily WIP

As of the moment Vice City With LODs is the only map that supports the latest build.

great, will try the nightly version. How's the memory usage compared to the older version? are you planning to add support for instant asset loading via IMG files?

Only the lod version of VC is compatible with the new nightly @thorn fern

@torpid mortar Memory usage is slightly lower and I'm working on dropping it down even further.

IMG asset integration is WIP.

Also because I've had this question I'm no longer supporting the default MTA map editor as it's outdated at this point and would require massive rewrites.

Instead I'm working on a new mapper that'll be incredibly user friendly and have complete integration with eagle loader.

Will support everyone that the default map editor does but with more features such as splines / paths, click to place, x,y,x and rotation gimbles and more.

Alright testing is delayed because of map conversion issues, rewriting the convertor to deal with LODs properly

  • Proper flag support added (Breakable, zBuffer, back face culling, alpha, etc are now applied correctly)
  • SIGNFICANTLY increased maximum draw distance, the entire map of VC can be drawn at once now
  • Updated map converter to ensure rotations are proper, LODs are ported over and flags are applied properly

Will publish this update tonight along with a new VC, next update will include proper water conversions, proper mini map loading and time cycle loading.
