You don't need that function anymore unless you want to test with an element in particular, since it already exists in processlineofsight. I used that and avoided normals returned via this function as most of native GTA SA objects with optimized cols (not aligning with dff) caused visual issues like decal floating in air. So the orientation and other maths stuff is custom
