Demorecs freezing

I record demorecs to check on my swing manip and such to see my improvement. Whenever I record a demorec and then go to watch it the clip either freezes and doesn’t play or starts at the very end of the recording.

@grim void do you mean you get stuck and can't move or does the demo actually freeze?

if it actually freezes or starts at the end your demo didn't get recorded properly, such as if you start a recording but don't stop the recording properly, aka by using the "demostop" command

if the demo actually plays but you just can't move, either press end or switch to spectate and then start the demo, if you're still alive and walking around with your merc when you use demoplay, your controls get locked

i was told that the demostop command was used to get out of watching a demorec

yeah it's a bit confusing but it does both

just keep in mind to use demostop, then press end, then use demoplay, and then it should work

and then when you're done you can use demostop again
