PluralKit (https://pluralkit.me/) is a Discord bot to allow plural systems to better represent themselves in servers. More detailed information about plurality can be found at https://morethanone.info/ but the gist of it is that one brain can have more or less separate members, like members of an apartment. PluralKit makes Discord easier for systems by allowing them to have one system account that can still represent each member separately.

There are a few different ways to use it. The main way is using proxying, which takes a message formatted in a certain way and shows it as the member associated with it. For me, I have Kitty's proxy set to ".. text". So basically, when that member is fronting, they can indicate that it is them posting

and afaik when you have messages proxied by bot, you cannot search those, tho i may be wrong

I suppose it's to organize it better? It makes it more clear that the message is coming from a certain headmate. The alternative is either to have a separate account for the headmate (as is being discussed) or signing off the message. PluralKit is more powerful than just signing the message off because the headmate can have a separate pfp and pronouns and description that people can see.

I personally just like it, idk, it's two ways to do the same thing. Having different accounts means you have a bunch of logins and also idk if Discord limits the number of accounts you can have. Especially if the headmate only shows up a little. Also it's much easier to add a member.

i'll bring this up in mod chat but it will likely be a long time before this gets implemented, if it does at all
i know ... i wish it was as simple as adding it
but we've got a lot on our plate as mods right now
and being an official verified server, the process for adding bots is rigorous and strict
in the meantime you can add alt accounts for this purpose, i can manually approve them without a phone number and give them the alt role
