The map for rustoria US small was interesting this wipe. I like it a lot. There were no islands and the map was one big land mass. That being said, it was really big for small. I think a perfect map would be one like this past one but shrunk a little. (Maybe add excavator if there’s room?)

Could you be more specific with what you mean by "It's mayhem" give us an understanding of what you mean here. Night-time has been done multiple times and we've given the skip option and it's always skipped, we won't attempt night again on the moddeds as it's such a low requested thing. The 8 man group limit has been re-discussed recently with Ryan. At the current time that isn't going to return. This really only benefits a small portion of this server and the majority of the groups on that server are not 8 mans. So going to give you that direct response there.

Oilrig loot tables are on my list to do, I've not had the time lately to do anything on the Zeus servers apart from a small update to the bradley the other day that was overdue to implement the mlrs rockets a little more frequent than they were appearing (Hopefully that was noticed)

Maps are something that Aden is in control of so maybe reach out to him regarding maps for servers.

Excavator is a tricky one, balancing that to make it acceptable for all players and not to be abused in downtimes of the server is something we've discussed internally already and had a few ideas. At the current time there's not going to be an excavator but it has been discussed many times I can assure you that. It wouldn't be at a 5x rate if it was to be implemented that's for sure. However maybe scaled based on population was discussed.

Can't comment on the cargo as I'm unaware of that issue, however I will bring that up with Ryan later today as that doesn't seem correct if it's spawning that frequently.

We need bigger maps on 600 pop servers (EU Long) there is a zerg in every grid in snow it's very unplayable. averaging 40 fps because there is china wall base with 200+ turrets in every 2 grids in map, you can't roam or anything and it's impossible to do raids when there is more than 20 groups playing the server with 4750K map, maybe make EU Long 2 for a bigger map (5k+) for the zergs. It would be fun to have more than 40-60 frames while roaming/raiding, the reason the frames are low on Rustoria is because there is way too many groups next to each other, if you render 1 base your fps will be gone. People are getting really burned out from this issue, Try to make a public vote and see what the others would say. I'm sure 90% of the community would want a bigger map to enjoy Rustoria on 70+ frames.

It was a feature a while ago, that was heavily and ridiculously abused by the hemp farming meta. You could legit build a full HQM 5x5 (or even much much bigger bases) and be able to upkeep them in vanilla, huge farms were killing server fps hence why facepunch decided to patch with adding a limit to vendors

The slots on our servers are dynamic. This means that the server will automatically increase or decrease the slots, depending on the queue.
This process is fully automated and staff members are not able to change the slots!
Though the slots are dynamic, there will always be a hard limit to guarantee the best performance as well as the overall user experience.
Our Long or Medium servers will not get their slots increased to match our Main servers as that would not meet the expectations of a Long or Medium server.

Gareth, not to be rude or sound condescending, but you are terribly mistaken about the 8 mans on Zeus 5x. I've been in touch with 3 groups of 8 mans and even more than have quit that server because of this change. The server is declining in pop each wipe that passes, and eventually will hit a low point where it will remain. When I first joined Zeus, we we're a 5 man, and eventually added onto our group from the players that joined later on or that were already playing that server. A lot of the response you will receive right now are from players who haven't experienced the pre 8 man changes that were made. I used to play Rusty servers, and they made the same mistake, changed the group limit from 12, to 10, to 8, and then down to 6 where it almost completely killed most of the servers that were hitting 300+ pop. And now look at their servers.

If you're planning on changing OILRIG loot tables, maybe consider how it could help implement the excavator idea. I can understand the downtime with excavator can be tricky to play around, but you must also think about how often OILRIG will be up for those players to actually get the diesel. I think, diesel when picked up from OILRIG shouldn't be 5x, and remain as 2 per diesel when picked up and it should only spawn 3 diesel barrels per reset of OILRIG. Making it extremely valuable and hard to acquire while also making it worth the while to get. Especially when day 1, with these changes implemented would sky rocket the servers pop, making it an all or nothing for OILRIG. That being said, the gather rate of excavator should be no more than 2.5x or even 2x. With 20 barrels of diesel, taking 40 minutes to complete the cycle, at 2.5x gather rate, that is 5000 HQM, 100,000 Sulfur, 500,000 Stone or 250,000 Metal. Now I've done the math, on paper and virtually in game. 100,000 Sulfur without a pure ore tea at 5x gather rate, took me 64 minutes to acquire. 250,000 Metal without a pure ore tea at 5x gather rate, took me 76 minutes to acquire. 500,000 Stone without a pure ore tea at 5x gather rate, took me 55 minutes to acquire. Also not to mention, I was the only person farming in my group, imagine if their were multiple of us farming. It would take less time and take a lot less effort. The only thing that would need to be balanced would be the HQM, I've tried farming for HQM and the only reasonable way to do so without breaking my head, would be to collect a lot of components and recycle for it. So there I was again, I collect as many components as I could within 60 minutes and recycled them for a total of 1643 HQM. So the HQM of excavator would need to be nerfed to 1x collection maybe 1.5x.

You're welcome to your opinion. You're not rude nor condescending to have that opinion all good. However as much as we've looked into data on our side and yes of course there would be people not playing and or leaving because of the change to the group limit. However we don't really look at Zeus as your "Typical 5x" server as it's not a no bps and it's pretty much one of the only bp servers still remaining out there that gets a fair amount of pop group limit 6 or 8.

The "Majority" of the groups on that server are not 8 man groups, nor are they higher than 6. The groups that primarily populate that server are just not that large. Yes of course it will effect the 8 man groups to change it to a 6 man. However the overall gameplay was being dominated by 8 man groups and the lower group sizes having no chances was a reason to try something new. Not to mention the same 8 man groups that were also abusing the gunpowder until I fixed that like it was fixed on the other servers.

Plans for the oilrig loot table have no began just yet, I'm still quite busy as of late but I will get to it as soon as I can. The excavator change won't be something that will be too near in the future either as I said we had plans to scale that based on population so a system will have to be made for that and that will take some time to be gotten to.

I do agree with you though, it'd never be at a scale of 5x and it'd be better suited at around 2x potentially. That'd be something we'd monitor closely if the monument was re-implemented however.

I do appreciate you taking the time to construct your post and actually bring more information than the typical "It's shit" "Fix it" or some other generic none helpful comments. It will not be ignored and it will be discussed next time I speak with Ryan

Cargo is another issue that was mentioned which you replied too, it was never down, and even when the server was dead, it still respawned after another one was leaving. So that was and is being abused by many of the players, even solos.

With all this being said, I've accumulated 1300 hours roughly on the Zeus 5x. I've been around for quite the time but never really felt the need to voice my opinion or thought till recently. That server is dying, and the players that have quit that server for the time being are frustrated because they haven't been able to find another server quite as good as that one. We want the old Zeus 5x team limit back, we want new content like an excavator, maybe add events that will help smaller teams or solo players to benefit from like random locked loot boxes that have a 5 2
minute timer that have a perimeter zone that appears on the map. Make locked crates that visit monuments more frequent, more random air drops. But also removing raiding materials from these features that make it less appealing for bigger groups to contest, or minimizing the loot tables to allow it to still be beneficial for smaller grouped players to contest but not appealing enough for larger ones too. I have so many ideas for this server and I am invested to make it great again, it just feels like we're on two ends here, my side, a players perspective, and your side, an admins perspective. It isn't the same, and if I we're you, I wouldn't be discussing this topic only between 2 topics, but rather the whole community.

But we respect your opinion and we are feedback orientated, so this is how changes happen. We clearly see how much you care about playing the server, and everything you said will be taken seriously. But yeah, the 6 man group limit was what we thought was best at the time. I am happy to re-review, but only once I have gotten more data. As for the loot concerns, as Gareth has mentioned, we are fully aware of those concerns however they have not yet been addressed. Likelihood is that we'll save all of the changes for 1 update, pending Gareth's and my availability

the one true bottleneck is signing an NDA with Rustoria, people are scared to send their personal information to us. I understand that concern, however it's required for a community of our size. If they can't trust me with their personal information to issue a contract to protect the privacy of my players, how can I trust them with the data they have on millions of my players? It's a mutual trust, and it's a privacy standard we must enforce.

It is simply that Rustoria pays a lot of attention to the selection of team members. People who are racist, homophobic or similar have no place there. Then, of course, the age of the potential applicant plays a big role.

I think it would make online raiding a little more common, while at the same time making it a little easier for 6 man groups to online with the help of smokes. The slots on our servers are dynamic. This means that the server will automatically increase or decrease the slots, depending on the queue.
This process is fully automated and staff members are not able to change the slots!
Though the slots are dynamic, there will always be a hard limit to guarantee the best performance as well as the overall user experience.
Our Long or Medium servers will not get their slots increased to match our Main servers as that would not meet the expectations of a Long or Medium server.

SUGGESTION: Admins should be forced to provide a legitimate reason for bans while citing written rules. This will aid in less wrongful bans, less confusion/support for why bans occur, less appeals in general, and allow for consistent authority. Currently, ban reasons known from me consist only of "Visit me in Discord" and "Play elsewhere" with weak citing of violating unwritten rules. Admins then leverage prior uncited bans against players because there is a record. This can (and has) quickly tarnish the player's reputation, playing ability, and relationship with Rustoria without having broken any written rules. Citing the rule violation in ban reasons immediately improves quality of life.

@everyone please upvote this so it gets the visibility it needs. Both the players and admins would greatly benefit from this!

Just gonna say that I understand where you're coming from, and have seen players being frustrated over similar things. That said - not every ban warrants providing additional information to the player, as that could potentially inform them of the way they were caught (This is concerning cheating bans), and help them be less conspicuous in the future.
Regarding the "Visit me in Discord" ban, that one is only for a talk with an admin to confirm something or give warning, before he\she can decide if the player can continue playing the server or not (in which case his ban reason will change).
The "Play elsewhere" ban for excessive toxicity is a tricky one, as it's not anchored by a specific rule, as you said. This ban in particular is not given out lightly, and means that the receiver of it said something completely inappropriate, something that nobody should ever say probably, for it to be justified with a ban
Not everything should be a rule, some things just should never be said anywhere ever (Quote from Chunky, our staff manager)

Perhaps an admin would provide better input, but this was mine, based on my impressions so far

Yeah, the points being shared and the shops on the modded are pretty great. Always found them super convenient when I was a player. Twitch and YouTube don't link so don't worry about that - I do believe they'll be reconnected in the future but there's no ETA on it at the moment. As far as more points on a specific server, I do believe a couple of them have a little bonus since they were in the process of rebuilding the communities around those servers so it can be a nice place to play for a bit while also benefitting play on other places within the server system. I don't believe that's a permanent thing so it is subject to change - ie might as well take advantage of it when it's around. Good luck out there and hope you have a great time

I played this morning at 2am GMT and was having a blast to then wake up at 8am and wait 4 hours to move 20 players in the queue. At 2am the pop size of EU long was 700 with still more connecting, I understand you have a dynamic server pop feature which automatically adjusts to the amount of players connecting and players currently on, as of now there are 132 players waiting to connect. Is there a reason why the pop size of EU long has not increased over the 4 hours of trying to connect with US long having more slots than EU long?

I would consider having a few Admins that can be the spokespeople for the server. Admins putting out incomplete or inaccurate information riles up the community to the detriment of Rustoria overall. If an admin doesn't know why something is happening, all they have to say is "We are looking to it." Instead, some Admins were postulating it was a client-side issue without any context or supporting information to support that.

Even someone stating, "We have reached out to FP because of a bug caused by the most recent build." Would have sufficed. I know many people will still be angry because you can't please everyone.

It is such a biased and inconsequential suggestion, the people that would be affected would not be the people that could bring change rendering the bans both useless and unfair. Actually you have a lot of zone kinda safe to recycle all over the map, light house and harbor are zones that are easy to defend and usualy easy to escape if there are too much people joining the party, you usualy see a lot of bases around lighthouses

So ive been told few days ago that there is "car limit" on US long.(maybe other rustoria servers too?)
And as much I understand why these setting been put into place, it its pretty much impossible to find any new cars after the first 3-4 days of a server wipe.
Ive been running the last 3 days multiple times along all kind of roads. placed lots of sleeping bags and kept running over and over but no cars are respawning.
I also didnt seen many garage bases, I think ive seen only like 2 bases in total which looked like they could be a car base and I never seen anyone driving any car along the roads while looking for one.

Anyways, I dont know how the exactly settings for car respawns look right now, but this feature of the game is pretty much not present. at laest not on US long.

I hope an admin find one day some time to look into it and find maybe a better solution or fix.

I have observed recently that server population has gone up to 900 on a wipe day. Of course, this depends on the number of players who are playing and queuing. The server should then automatically expand and also release slots for joining.

We are consistently working on hiring and training admins to ensure around-the-clock availability in the game and in Discord. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, as our admins are also people who lead a private life and even work, just imagine 🙂
Another factor is the time difference. Your message was written for me at 04:36 AM, so it is safe to assume, since most admins are from America and Europe, that they are not available there.

Depends on what u call playable. The ai was removed which imo is annoying because you legit dont have to worry about animals attacking you, and doing mil tuns and trains you could just walk trough it. It made it a whole lot grubbier. Also i think ai is one of the main reasons the server crashes/lags often so without it being disabled it wouldn’ be possible

I think toria should not consider 1k pop again unless they can keep the ai running aswell

The slots on our servers are dynamic. This means that the server will automatically increase or decrease the slots, depending on the queue.
This process is fully automated and staff members are not able to change the slots!
Though the slots are dynamic, there will always be a hard limit to guarantee the best performance as well as the overall user experience.
Our Long or Medium servers will not get their slots increased to match our Main servers as that would not meet the expectations of a Long or Medium server.
