As everyone is aware, Rustoria isn't what the server used to be nor is the service satisfying players. Not dragging anything or anyone just being transparent with the truth. Alot of players have and are threatening to migrate to other servers mostly Rustoria's rival servers like Rusty Moose. This month alone the server pop is 100-150 players only one week into wipe and you can visually see that players have moved over to other servers.
To make players return back to the server or invest your opportunity i would suggest offering VIP at a lower price while DDOS attacks and lagging is a common issue the server has, with it being the reason why the majority of players have moved on. Because why would you pay full price to a server that lags all the time compared to a server that offers similar pricing for a lot less crashing and a really high pop. When Rustoria had minimal or no concerns with player counts being the highest Facepunch has ever seen we are still paying the same value in price but now with a less stable server. Only reason why i would reduce the cost of VIP is due to alot of player spamming in chat to "refund their VIP" suggesting that players had full intent on playing on the server but because they paid money for an unstable server they wouldnt be satisfied, so they would rather invest their money elsewhere to continue playing the game

Don't allow players with game bans less than a few months old to play. If they cheat in 1 game, they're more than likely to cheat in another. Other official servers block them for ~180 days, you should do the same.

honestly not much bad to say about the server, i liked how modded it was & kits made it fun and exciting when they dropped as it was like the perfect time to raid. Max 6 was the perfect number too as no group was unbeatable as a trio/quad. Loot tables were sometimes strange, lots of combat knives i remember lol. The player base was the best part as clans would routinely play every friday and monday and it made a super competitive environment week in and out. Do you know why the player base left?

A few things I'd like to suggest.

You always advertise you host on best hardware yet we get ping spikes and game freeze even disconnects from time to time. I'm guessing servers get ddos or similar attacks. Is there a way to firewall/ban certain ip ranges/locations based on ddos locations? If possible please implement.

When a ticket is submitted for a cheater we usually get an answer along the lines of " player is not online can't investigate forwarded to eac". Even when a player is obviously cheating, 1v5 triple headshots all etc. we get the same basic answer "no evidence". Not just on these servers but many server providers give the same answer. Is there a way for moderation to get player statistics and compare them to acceptable realistic cases? Or get evidence from server logs? Submitting a screen recording is not suitable for me, I have a decent PC and I barely get 70 fps on regular gameplay. Rust is not an optimized game, it's very heavy on the hardware, not possible to run a screen record at the same time without performance loss.

It can be considered a fact that there are many cheaters among Russian and Chinese players. Is there a way to implement a quota/ban for people connecting from China or Russia? For example limit the number of Chinese or Russian players on EU servers 700 slots reserved for EU, 100 for Russia and China. I think that would lower the number of cheating cases.

I believe with the latest rust updates we should get a grace period of 5 minutes or so to skip the queue for reconnecting after a game crash. Is it implemented on these servers considering that they're official servers or is it omitted so that we buy VIP?

Can we get an auto ban feature for suspicious/new accounts? For example new steam accounts with less than 30 days can't connect, that way we can omit cheater alt accounts. Same applies to steam accounts with 0 levels, only game is rust, etc etc.

Not sure who wrote rustoria.co, but I noticed that typing a name into the leaderboards search fires a GET @ https://api.rustoria.co/statistics/leaderboards/vanilla_main_us/resources?from=0&sortBy=total&orderBy=asc&username=mitch every single time you type a letter, even if you're attempting to type a full name.

I suggest adding a slight delay that only fires the GET request if they havent typed in 0.2 seconds, or some small delay. It would prevent needless GET requests, since no one types 1 letter to search themselves (or others), they search parts or whole names.

So yeah, ping your FE dev for a small little task probably.

Honest review of rastoria after 4 months of playing on the project. I played on rastoria about 4 months, nahigral on the account from 0 hours to 1000 hours and it was only on 1 project, it was my smurf, which I pumped from scratch, played on servers with 7-day vypy, bought constantly vip status, it was worth it to me to go to the server with 2 weeks vypy with the main account and proantireyde friends moderator, so I got an immediate ban after 30 minutes, while during this time I did not even kill anyone and did not do anything, just sat waiting for these people to leave to drag the loot, the ban was without prufov that I had cheats, no one even provided any evidence. So, if you fall for the moderator's friends and God forbid you kill them even 1 time and violate their plans - you will be immediately punished)))) At first I didn't believe people who told their stories how their clans were banned just because they crossed someone's path to some clan, as I met it myself - I believed it. How so, played on the rastoria 1000 hours on a new account and did not get banned, and as soon as I logged in from the main account on a 2-week server proantireidiv friends moderator, while I killed 1 player, 30 minutes passed, and I get banned for cheats, while I do not touch anyone and do not do anything, does not sound strange? It sounds weird to me.

Hi! I'd like to comment on the server!

I'm a Korean who runs a team with just over 20 people on the 'us medium' server. I've been playing on this server for over 2 years. So I've watched the rise and fall of the server a lot.

I love how this server determines the map by voting in a democratic way. But the downside of that method seems to be having a lot of adverse effects on the server these days. It's vote manipulation.
There are no Chinese people coming for the whole wipe, but the problem is the second wipe. They pick the map they want, monopolize the sulfur, devastate the server, and leave as soon as possible. The serious problem here is that this is a two-week server. It doesn't matter with a short-term server, but the Chinese who devastate the server for those who want a long-lasting server and come back are the main culprit for ruining it.

Three big Chinese teams with over 20 people per team - R2, susu, 337 - unite and devastate servers in an instant. For those who come hoping to keep users for two weeks, this is devastating stress.

The driving force behind the Chinese's move is that they monopolize good monuments and sulfur through map manipulation. I don't know about this September 20th wipe, but they turned the map around with a difference of more than 100 votes right before the end of the vote. They put the map in favor of themselves, with monuments concentrated in the snow mountain. It's not illegal in democratic process. But it's definitely having a negative impact on the server.

So I'd like to ask the server administrators. Please remove the map where the high-end monuments are concentrated on the snow mountain in the map candidate site. The map where the monuments are scattered will be much more helpful to the two-week server players, and will be the driving force behind the Chinese not absorbing resources quickly. This would be something that most players who play the two-week server would agree on. We want the servers to be enjoyed slowly for two weeks. The Chinese can be abusive. That's the nature of the game. But I don't think it's the rule of the game to manipulate voting outside of the game to choose the map they want, and to grow rapidly and devastate the server. We wouldn't have any complaints if the Chinese grew and fought squarely like us.

he's not saying to remove them from the snow. he's saying not to concentrate everything into one place to be controlled by one large group.

it's simple. A "majority rules" vote is essentially the same as asking the biggest team what map they want. they will always have the numbers to get their way while the rest of the players get no say. This drives server pop down.

but i know there is no simple solution for this because one reason people buy VIP is for voting purposes and that's how this server makes money.

the only idea i can think of is it could be randomized between the top 2 voted maps. this still gives everyone an influence and will give the opportunity for people outside of very large teams to have it their way from time to time.

I would like to propose that there be no more map voting and that it be random.

They are milking money, they make sure the vip slots are more than the actually pop & force the pop lower to keep people in perma que. Basically if pop is maxed out you will never go down in que unless most vips leave the server. Also they are the only offical server that removed the Crash protection to milk another 10bucks from people every wipe. It wouldnt even suprise me if they're are the ones crashing the server by themself since every crash on wipe u have players buying vip. It must make them ridiculous amount of money every crash. Hello, appreciate you reaching out with this. In order to understand why the rules are written the way they are (playing with hackers, ban evader or benefitting from the presence of hackers by association, deliberately or not), I would recommend that you imagine that a cheater stole all of your best kits, put them in a base / a group of bases where a group of players are, the cheater is banned - and the teammates continue to run around with your kits, and use all the ill-gotten gains as they see fit, which they have accrued, in large part, thanks to the hacker - I think you would agree, that as a player on the receiving end of this sort of situation, that those individuals, whilst maybe not acutely aware in all cases, have gained a significant and unfair advantage regardless. We are aware that this situation can happen inadvertently, which is why first offences are typically limited, 7 day bans, with longer bans for those who have a pattern of playing with cheaters, to be as fair as possible to all parties involved. Hope that clears any confusion up for you 🙂

I appreciate the response, much better than the previous one where I was just told my feelings were invalid. I still disagree with the rule though. I wouldn't care playing with those players, it's not their fault. It creates a hostile community environment, discouraging teamwork and collaboration, which are key aspects of Rust's gameplay.

We do hear you and understand the frustration with this. Of course, you can disagree with any rule you like and we truly appreciate the feedback, but unfortunately, this rule is highly unlikely to change or be removed.
Yes, it's true that in situations like yours, players likely do not and cannot really know if someone is cheating. Still, the fact of the matter remains that you unknowingly had the privilege of being on the same team as the cheater, not dying to the cheater, or losing loot to the cheater while the rest of the server did not have this same advantage. That is why we ban players for association, but we know not every situation is the same, so these association bans are mostly temporary 7-day bans meant to discourage players from associating with cheaters.
We do recognize the spirit of teamwork is a large part of what makes Rust fun to play, but we also encourage players to exercise more caution when deciding to trust other players and playing with them.
I hope this helps you understand our decision and our rules a bit more.

i don't know how the queue and pop works but from what i see they try to keep the queue around 50 when the performance on the server allows for higher pop

like both longs are 450/450 with 20 queue i bet when the queue reaches 60 50 slots will open if the performance on the server is good

I really liked your 3x Server when it had high pop. I know u change it to a monthly server but is there no way to bring it back? Like new: except 3x No Bps, 3x Vanilla, there are not so many server of that

If the server play style is high pop you aren’t going to open the max slots the server performance allows it’s always going to keep a little queue the only time queue won’t be on the server is if the pop is for example 400/400 q is 20 and 40 people leave the server and no one else connect the pop will stay at 380/400 but if the pop is 400/400 with a q of 70 slots will open to 450 if performance allows but your system will never open 50 slots when the q is 20 like in this example

The pop will also go down to 350 max if the pop of conected players is less than 350/400 so that new connection will be put in a q to encourage vip purchases

My pop numbers are only for example but this is exactly how your system works to encourage vip purchases without making it to annoying for non vip players

No one with access to your pop system can say I’m wrong

You’re incorrect, we do not cap slots when there is a queue full stop, we wait until there is a queue of any amount for longer than about 2 minutes then raise slots

The server is P2W because you just can pay money to skip queue and getting base, loot earlier that others (that means you can already run with crossbow when everyone only spawning on beach), Also server host is really trash, getting 40 fps on good pc, 200+ ping. Because of that i losed a good start like 3 times, also there was an situation when i was swimming from oil rig with full inventory and server started lagging, then i drowned and server got restarted (my body got despawned)

On the Targets thing on RTG not sure if its just me but whenever i go on it my FPS is dropping anywhere from 40-60 fps, Not sure why but on reg server im getting around 200-240 fps but on the targets im getting 150-160
can anything be done about this?
especially if people with lower quality systems experience the same issue it could be quite annoyign for them

+1 Another alternative to this is to make the channel searchable and have 2 different tags on each chat message added to it and have it be able to search each tag instead of 2 channels that likely would get spammed with both messages anyway
