The slots on our servers are dynamic. This means that the server will automatically increase or decrease the slots, depending on the queue.
This process is fully automated and staff members are not able to change the slots!
Though the slots are dynamic, there will always be a hard limit to guarantee the best performance as well as the overall user experience.
Our Long or Medium servers will not get their slots increased to match our Main servers as that would not meet the expectations of a Long or Medium server.

As far as i'm aware this isn't in our plans, as that would cause a larger clutter of channels in the discord, but as unfortunate as it is, our looking for group isn't often server specific, we don't force you to recruit only for Rustoria, as many groups recruit for other servers, but spread their messages across multiple discords to attract a wider range of people, as much of a pain in the ass as it is, I believe to avoid clutter and confusion, it's best to reach out to people recruiting directly to get questions such as what server they plan to play on.
A side note, most recruitment messages i've seen so include a server or region, so I feel adding this would complicate for most, while ironing out a minor part of the population that don't include server region or specific servers.

Management do review all of the suggestions though, so don't take my comment as a no, it's possible they will review and converse amongst the topic themselves and come to a different conclusion

It's not mutualised hosting/... you can't host this kind of servers in some self service game server provider, if an issue happend it need to be investigated and solved, there is no magic solution unfortunately. Sometimes it's hardware, sometime it's plugins, sometimes it's the game itself that has issues. Anyway there is no "change hosting" magic solution

Hi. I am Domo, a 41 year old boomer Rust gamer.
I am what most of you pvp chads would call a base bitch, farmer or rollplayer. I am having fun doing pipes, lights or just chill in a hemp base.
If Rust would have a Roll system like League of Legends for example, then I would consider myself as a "Supporter".

Anyways, I am playing in all kind of different groups, depending whos playing right now and where I am welcome to join. The main reason for this is because the pvp groups I am playing with dont always play every week, or quit the server already after 1-2 days while I am still in the mood to keep playing rust.

Unfortunately I got banned twice in the last 4 weeks for "playing with a hacker" . 2 different groups, 2 different hackers.
I wasnt aware that a hacker was in my group. but got banned for 1 week each on Rustoria SEA and Rustoria MAIN.

Shit happens, life goes on I though. I cant look into peoples head to know whos cheating or not. And the Rustoria Admins dont know if I was aware that there was a cheater in my group or not. So a 1 week ban is not 100% fair but also not unfair and understandable.

However, I still write an Appeal, just to point out that I wasnt aware. And the Rustoria Admins told me this:

7 day ban for playing with cheater, it is your responsibility who you choose to play with, if you can not protect yourself, do not play in Big groups, as next Ban will be a longer Ban

And telling me pretty much that I shouldn't play in big groups. And I think thats unfair, considering that Rustoria even offering a #looking-for-group channel where are also cheaters.

It feels like that there are so many Cheaters in Rust that even Rustoria with a lot of active admins dont know how to handle the situation so they ban innocent players just in case. And telling me also that the next ban will be longer.

It just feels like Rustoria is acting like the President of El Salvador right now.

We understand the feedback, but you need to reflect on the other side, do you think it's fair, for someone who played with a cheater to not be banned for associating with the cheater?

We have to blanket rule which at times yes may seem unfair, but in the larger scope of things is the fairest option, if you played with a cheater, you will be banned for associating with them out of fairness to the rest of the server, it's not fair to them directly that you were allowed to play with a cheater with zero repercussions,
still being allowed to use loot gathered from playing with a cheater, in the same base as them, all contributed to by said cheater. Actions have consequences, and the consequence of playing with a cheating, knowingly or not is to be prevented from playing for 7 days.

I understand you side, these things do seem unfair, but for the benefit of the entire server and keeping common fair ground, knowingly or not the ban will be the end result, we are sure you don't want to knowingly play with a cheater, but in the end you still played with one, and the punishment has to be done.

I am just worried that I will get banned for a month or a year next time something like this happens.

Saying "its your responsibility to ensure you not playing with a cheater" is just a cheap way to pass the problem .

Not really no, just trust the people you play with, ask them to screenshare to you, check their profiles, ask them to un-private them, there is plenty of steps you directly can take to avoid these issues, simply going on blind trust sadly causes this often in Rust.

Let’s be real, if there’s more than 4 people playing no one’s asking for a screen share. Rust is a demanding game on computers, the only time we ask someone to throw up a stream is if we’re out and about and join the call for a few minutes to see what’s going on. I’ve reported quite a few of my team for cheating because after a while of playing they chose to start cheating and showed us voluntarily, would never have known if they didn’t.

However our Low pop servers are typically smaller groups because the total pop limit on them servers are 150 however group are not limited on there either but bigger groups are not as frequent on there due to the pop limit. 3x and up have a player limit, you can see these limits in #oldserverinfo

For example every vanilla server has a max team size of 8 except for main so people still can play with big group but only on the main server. Im sure a lot of people would like to see this

The real issue:

My suggestion, is to remove the average rust player staff member to investigate these issues and hire/use a high level player with high knowledge of closet cheating and that is in tune with team politics, who players play with etc to help combat the rise and repeat of cheating ban buy another high farmed account.
The average player will not be able to catch things closet cheaters do to hide their cheats.

A simple pattern say with a high level player using ESP might wait to see the actual pixel of a player before flicking onto them rather then a low level player might track before the player is seen. Sadly the reality of Rust, and any online competitive multiplayer game, is that it's a constant effort to remove as many cheaters as possible. Here's a suggestion. Stop handling cheating tickets "fair" and do what bans the most cheaters. Go from recently added first and work your way backwards. Not the other way around. There you go.

A fresh report of someone cheating would mean a higher chance of catching a cheater than a 2,3 or 5 hour old one. The reason is people dont need to cheat 100% of the time and more likely than not toggle in key fights/situation. I.e during raid, raiddefense, cargo, oil rigs or crate spawns.

When a ticket is created is not really relevant, we have a lot of tickets created that a fresh ticket is not a fresh ticket for long. Other methods are in place (which I won't speak about for obvious reasons) to catch cheaters faster. At the end of the day the ticket system is not the main source of bans, some people tend to use it to express their frustration in the game more than to actually report cheaters.

Marc meant tickets are not the main source of bans because many of the tickets we get are actual legitimate players. We have other tools that help us identify and ban cheaters as needed. In terms of prioritization of tickets, how long ago the ticket was created is only one of the criteria in a very long list of things we look at. Unfortunately, we can’t go into detail about what the rest of those criteria are as it would give too much information to people who are actually cheating. But we don’t strictly go by ticket creation time, if that’s what you’re concerned about.

Giving the most recent ticket higher priority would be counter productive, there are times we get multiple tickets on multiple players at once. Based on the fact that we need some time to investigate the situation of each ticket, 2 tickets created in the last 2 minutes would mean 1 get resolved in the few next minutes and the second would be ignored as most certainly new tickets will arrive in the meantime. Giving highest priority to the new ones always would mean a lot of tickets are not resolved before 6, 8 or more hours.

Well, I could have a couple things to suggest, 1st is that, this past wipe on EU main, there was a zip line monument floating above a cave next to military tunnel, is just didn't seem like something on vanilla, 2nd is that, some wipes the terrain totally blocks the path of above ground trains, I hope for the future that this can be permanently resolved, it really sucks when the map design blocks the train path because of a monument and where it was placed

I agree with shogun regarding the maps I’m not sure how much you have an affect on them but spacing monuments out, bigger snow and overall making it possible to have bases near monuments.

Like the map winning for US has 4 monuments ontop of one another in snow, with like 3 layers of train tracks/road and 3 mountains circling arctic

statistically, we have seen 7 crashes since exactly 2pm est, it is currently 9pm est. This means that over the past 7 hours, if we calculate crashes/hour, we will see that there has been exactly one crash every hour on average. We still have 3 more hours in the day, meaning that there is most definitely room for a new world record. I would even go as far as to say that 10 crashes today is likely.

statistically, I believe that over the course of 3 more hours left in the day, assuming there is one crash per 30 minutes that equals out to about 6 crashes left in the day, if we want to double the crashes then we would need to reach about 14 crashes today, 7+6=13 so no, sadly I don't think so

if we were looking for the optimal time in order to achieve the doubled record of 14 crashes per day, assuming there are now only 2.5 hours left in the eastern time day, we would need a crash rate of 1 crash per 21.4285714285739992 minutes. This is the one and only way. @ashen talon

Remove the map vote and make it random. Actual good maps aren't picked because they dont cater to giant clans and zergs, Rustoria US Medium is a great example of this, the only reason that it was picked is Oil, Launch, and Sulfur quarry are next to each other. Nearly every other place on the map is unlivable because there are no monuments with high tier loot within a reasonable distance of a cluster of monuments.

Some examples of which on US Medium are Large, Silo, and Outpost. Three places where better loot or better stuff can be obtained but are in the middle of nowhere.

Solos, and Duos cant exist on a server where there is only one good spot on the map which is completely run by clans of 10+ people. You don't even have a choice of any other place because every other good monument is in No Mans Land.

Remove the map vote for atleast one wipe and see how it goes.

Yeah because you can only live by tier 2 monuments. Any big monuments like Oil are controlled by clans. Then all the other spots are too far out of the way to make living next to it worth it

On top of that closest red card to large is 10 grids away, The closest blue card to missile silo is 10 grids away, and the green card is also another good 7 grids away.

Which proves my point that one map is only picked because of how it caters to clans
