Yeah it's a viable strat thats why some insignificant amount of people do it, but the vast majority of people are unaware unwilling or uninterested.

*and making it congruent with the other resources on a modded server likely won't change that so please for the love of god let me fish on modded. Because having it 1x on a 2x is effectively halving its gather rate and nerfing it. I'm no smarty pants programmer but this has to be a simple value change I can't imagine it would take much work.

I have been a long time player of the Rustoria 5x Trio US server, and I've noticed pop is getting progressively worse over time. I have a suggestion for your consideration:

Due to pop becoming increasingly lower on 5x Trio, perhaps a revisit to the sulfur amounts in the VIP kits is in order. Lately pop gets taken out due to massive wipe night raiding. Reducing sulfur in the VIP Kits (and maybe giving more of other stuff to keep its value) would make a better situation for keeping people playing more than for 2 hours on wipe day then quitting because they got offlined. It would reduce the overall number of bases raided in several ways:

1. It would reduce the amount of instant sulfur players could have on hand, and would result in less raids overall keeping more people playing longer. (As most explosives on the server are as a result of kits rather than farming in my anecdotal experience)

2. It would reduce the profit margins of the mass raiders. Currently a VIP kit player can raid multiple other VIP kit players and get exponentially more sulfur. Reducing the amount of sulfur per kit would reduce the likelihood of a massive profit on a raid.

I think the decay rate is pretty good rn on 10x. Its been a while since I played it, but back then the decay was super fast. I understand that the 2x2s are annoying, but imagine you get raided and your tc is gone and your base just starts decaying super fast.

The pop is trending downwards over time, and anecdotally I believe it to be because everyone is raided wipe night and most players who are new generation players quit after that happens, making pop worse.

I think that methods to reduce the ability to mass raid such as reducing sulfur in kits (as in my anecdotal playtime on the server appears to be mostly due to kits).

This would reduce the massive profit of a VIP raiding a VIP, and would reduce the amount of explosives players would have on hand on wipe night.

This would also encourage going to monuments such as Bradley, Rigs ect.

The primary benefit is you'd have more people playing longer into the wipe and keep pop more solid or going up in the future. Financially it would benefit the server as more players would equal more kits.

add a crash protection, so if your game crashes you have like 5 min to log back in before the queue applys. otherwise you get queue skip. its the most annoying thing ever. theres lots of other servers that has this. Great thing to add if possible

Every time i've said anything it's gone completely ignored. I know the modded servers probably aren't the primary focus of Rustoria staff, but greater pop on them equals more money for Rustoria.

Easier said than done. We've been trying by adding new features and what not and we're working on adding new stuff aswell. We can't just force people to join - there's no revive button. Modded isn't as popular as it used to unfortunately. If you ever have any suggestions on what you feel could be changed/added/removed please let us know 🙂

Fair enough, some easy changes that could be done is I think adding back the red circles to the modded servers could be beneficial. It promoted PVP and server activity.
another one could be some sort of investigation into sulfur gain on modded servers via kits. Today the primary player base of the modded servers is new players, they tend to quit after one raid on their bases. In my anecdotal experience most boom on a given modded server is generated from sulfur in kits. Some sort of reimagining of kits could promote decreased wipe day raiding, and keep players playing longer

For example I play primarily the 5x US Trio, on that server wipe day most bases of reasonable size get raided by clans with kits who raid everyone wipe night and the raided players do not try again the next day. If you made raiding require more work from players (such as farming nodes or running monuments) it would decrease the amount of overall "mega raids" on wipe night and keep more people playing. The higher pop numbers would as a result keep more people playing overall

I've played 5x for a couple of years and we've always been able to raid pretty much every base just by either farming or doing cargo/oil and snowballing raids etc. At the end of the day this is not my decision to make though so def something management could look into if they feel like it.

As for adding back raid circles, I totally agree with you - it promoted pvp and re-adding it would not hurt in my opinion.

The offline raids is a problem indeed, many players tend to quit as soon as they get raided (losers ) but offline raid protection will not be a thing and it's just such a hard thing to prevent.

There are ways within the meta to decrease it's overall frequency though. Given that Rust today is primarily made up of newer players who quit after getting offlined once that is why I think steps to reduce the efficiency/frequency of raids would increase pop

I don't know how much of that can be a result of the overall current Rust playerbase versus the meta of the server, but if the overall playerbase has changed I think a meta change could benefit pop. I remember the olden days of Rustoria modded where wipe days was a max pop super highly competitive thing which made for a great experience. Today it seems to only average "moderate" pop on wipedays 100-150, and at low hours gets to 20-50.

It feels like other 10x servers just have extremely more features (QOL or things like Maze/KOTH) and the rustoria 10x just got gapped by all the other servers

Yeah, one of the main issues ive seen on the 10x is the fact that 1 or 2 clans will offline raid over half the bases in the map overnight while everyone asleep. I understand that not much can be done as no rules are being broken, but ive met countless players who leave because they get raided by the same clan over and over again throughout a wipe. Maybe ban walling off sulphur quarry, and other monuments? Pretty sure I walled off Lighthouse on this server a few years ago, and the mods made me remove it, but have seen other people do it with other monuments recently.

But on a positive note, im looking forward to the red raiding circles returning.

Walling off the quarries is fine, walling off the monument being the lighthouse however isn't. Which is why you would have been asked to remove it

Also to find a balance to not have people get raided overnight is quite hard from a server owner perspective, as there are many things that go into people getting raided. The time they have to spend on the game, how big their base is, what material the base is made of. Remember it's a 10x so it's not exactly hard to get materials in the first place so raiding a base dependant on the size is far easier than other servers

We try to do things to increase the player longevity, however there are some things that will be out of our control

The quarries were giving 300,000 sulfur per hour & 14,100 hqm per hour at the rates they were at. This is far too overpowered for something that is passive and can be controlled by a few turrets to stop people using it. They were nerfed on purpose and still have a good amount of resources for something that is passive and requires 10 seconds to pick up some diesel

As I said prior, it was unintended to work in that way and as such they were "Nerfed" "Patched" "Changed" whatever you'd like to call it

They will not be put back to that same rate

You can use 29 barrels per 60 minutes, that would make it 1,000(Vanilla) x10 10,000/diesel on a 10x server

I will double check the changes, however I'm pretty certain they're intended

New 200 pop servers are a great idea. Would highly recommend looking into the respawn times due to low pop, as that is the huge issue with me and a lot of others wanting to play lower pop servers. Rustafied has 200 pop, and they usually allow it up to 250 on wipe which helps a little with the respawns. That will be the biggest problems people have with it 😅

I experienced an EAC false positive that automatically affected my whole team with a weeklong association ban. As a result, despite the anecdotally rare false positive recurrence rate, they fear loosing another wipe.

Could it be possible to offer previous false positive's associations a grace period during the automated temporary phase of a future EAC ban of that player? This would remove a perverse incentive affecting a larger number of players than those that actually experience a second false positive.

By simply delaying the association ban on the hypothetical second round, you trade tainted loot security in this rare scenario for healthier communities among careful rule following player base.

I understand that this is a rare circumstance and maybe not worth the effort. I also get that my understanding is incomplete and it's a delicate area, so my suggestion may be unworkable for reasons you're not able to share.

A new Rustoria.co server (under the modded category). This server would cater specifically to clans. Some changes would include but are not limited to sleeping bags, unlimited unlimited turrets, maps suited best for clans, and some other minor changes. It would essentially be vanilla rust but for the clan demographic. Very high pop, weekly wipe, 16 (or more) UI. The server can easily be marketed in "main scene" (🤢) Discords as clans do like to play against each other, rather than on multiple servers.

IMO i believe the quarry debuff has made the quarries pointless. But i think that if the diesel rates are increased to something like 2 per barrel. it will be more even and not as OP. But unfortunately, we cannot ban someone unless we have evidence to do so. We can be extremely suspicious of a player, we can even be 99% sure they are cheating, but unless there is concrete evidence that they are 100% cheating at the time of the investigation, we can't take action. I looked into your ticket and it looks like this was the case -- the player was suspicious but there was not enough evidence at the time to ban them. Situations like yours are also why we say to submit another ticket if you are still suspicious of them we can look into them again. Cheating in Rust is a huge problem in general right now, so thanks for your report.

The slots on our servers are dynamic. This means that the server will automatically increase or decrease the slots, depending on the queue.
This process is fully automated and staff members are not able to change the slots!
Though the slots are dynamic, there will always be a hard limit to guarantee the best performance as well as the overall user experience.
Our Long or Medium servers will not get their slots increased to match our Main servers as that would not meet the expectations of a Long or Medium server.

Me, my friends all get timed out multiple times a wipe
(server issue when it happens to them at the same time as me)
and then get stuck in a queue for like 2-3 hours.
happened on force, happened after force, also happened now so:

there should 100% be a grace period of 5minutes to reconnect to the server if you get disconnected for any reason

for example -

1)rust's bad optimisation and degrading performance overtime makes you need to restart the game, leaving you stuck in queue

2) server issues like getting timed out randomly, also leaves you stuck in queue

not providing a grace period just seems like a scummy way to milk some money for vip's . ESPECIALLY when its not your fault.

FEEDBACK FOR THE STAFF: The way medium has handled a high pop is not acceptable. When 400 slots opened, I did not jump forward in the queue any, leading me to believe people behind me that were VIPs got prioritized to be put in, instead of having dedicated slots.

The entire point of VIP is to skip queue. Your position in queue will not move until the total number of players in the server drops below the cap. For example, if the cap is 650, and there are 700 players in the server, 51 would have to leave in order for your position in queue to move.

I started the queue at 300 people ahead of me, with the servers original pop being a cap of 250. It then increased to a cap of 650, meanwhile I moved ahead maybe 30 queue in this 30 minute time frame of the server pop cap increasing. You're telling me rustoria has so many vip slots, that nearly all of those slots that opened went to VIPs? Thats ridiculous.

Admins are always looking at tickets. How quickly you get a response depends on volume of tickets and admin availability. If we’re responding in #support , usually we’re also doing something else. If you made a payment support or network support ticket though, those do take longer since only a select few admins can handle them.

This has been suggested countless times, and has been rejected countless times for the simple reason that grace periods for disconnections are a recipe for even longer queues for everyone. This isn't going to be added I'm afraid - although I understand that it's a particularly emotive topic currently, due to the issues with EAC backend disconnections, but this is a temporary issue 🙂

Sorry to hear you’ve had a rough experience lately. 😦 Unfortunately cheating in Rust is a huge issue in general right now. We do our best to catch cheaters as quickly as we can, but we do need our players to create tickets so we can be made aware when someone is suspicious. The correct way to make a ticket is by typing /ticket in game chat or by going to our website. F7 reports only go to Facepunch, not us. As far as roof campers go, that’s just part of the game, so we do not moderate it. No official server is going to moderate roof camping.
