Not exactly. It takes ages to get maps for all servers, especially around force wipe because sometimes Facepunch will push changed on the Monday before force that fucks with maps again and we need to go again

I think we generate roughly 10k-15k maps a month and probably less than a thousand even pass our basic requirements

the time consuming part is not to go over the map it's to generate map, to generate a map you need to launch a server, depending on the size of the map/... it can take up to 15 minutes for each map generated

Rust community has changed and now requires a more open snow for PvP and multiple base spots. For example last EU medium there was 4 main bases within a 3x3 grid radius due to how small the snow was.

Dedicating maps for that is beneficial to the servers as the groups who pay for VIP are the ones who require it. Natty pop won't be affected much, if at all by a slightly smaller grass area or whatever

i do have a question about maps though: i see a common argument y'all have for no island maps is that it promotes smaller groups to want to go in the snow, but how? this is the us medium snow from aprils wipe (4/20), i color coded different parts to represent different things but the jist is that in is potential base spots that a small group would have to go around to get deeper into the snow is just useless water that cant be used for anything except paddling/boating/swimming with hazzies on, so getting from one side of the road to the other towards arctic and harbor is increased by about 5-6 grids instead of the 2 it is to swim. looking at the island bottom left i circled in green because in reality 1 group will control that island on wipe and raid every group that even attempts to put something down on their territory. the last color is indicating where all the small water/boat bases you'd also have to get around if you were to keep going north on that road. so once again i ask, how does having no islands make playing in a smaller group better?

• Map
• Blueprints
• Shop points

3x will skip the wipe on Friday. 10x will wipe again on Friday.

Force wipe typically happens around 2PM EST / 7PM UK / 8PM CET.

it is really easy tho, just turn on your compass. you can know when it will be night because the sun goes down in the west. sunrise is east. just trying to help you on that one. you know your position on the map and have a compass, its fairly easy. also its more like north east to north west imo

Hoppel does a lot right and there is def more to it than we as players will ever know but at some point it gets annoying. Lost 35 aks to this last crash and lost much more to others. They started fixing the map problem so maybe they fix the server issues next 🙂
