The best policy is to check other player's profiles out before you start playing with them, and distancing yourself from a player if they're found to be cheating. If you've found someone to play with, and they have a private account or a brand new account, but claim to have xxxx number of hours, you're allowed to ask why that's the case, and if it seems sketchy, it probably is. I've lived by that my entire Rust "career" and it's never steered me wrong 🙂
