Hi, my unban appeal was denied. Guess why I was banned? I entered the damn codes to doors of a base. Freaking ridiculous.
One of my teammates from the previous wipe got banned for allegedly playing with a cheater. Fine. Ok. I've never played with him this wipe, so I'm free then right, rightttt?
He gave me the codes to the base, so I maintained the upkeep. Ok. Seems like a logical thing to do, let me help him out. I found his base, ooopsie, it had decayed. Well, I entered the codes anyway since I'm there. I see some nakeds scavenging it for resources, I was too late. Damn, unlucky.
The next day comes, I can't log in. I'm banned for "playing with a cheater". Very interesting.
How does it even make sense? I've never played with these guys, never ever this wipe. We've never been in the same team. Banning for 7 damn days for codes? Seriously guys? Can you also ban those nakeds taking the resources from the decayed base too then? And what if I code raided a base and it was a cheater's base? Do i get banned too? What the hell.

Well, put yourself in my shoes.
The guys that I know (but don't play with them at all) get banned for "playing with a cheater". The way they described the situation seemed very unfair towards them. Some random dude got into their team, apparently used cheates and the whole group goes down for assosiation.
They told us about this and asked us to maintain the upkeep for them so that they don't lose the base. Anyone would help people you know in this situation. You can even check the logs to make sure we've never been in the same team before over this wipe.
I play with other people, so none of them got banned which proves we didn't use cheats.
So anyway, I went to those guys' base but it was already too late. It had decayed and some nakeds were looting it right in front of me. I just entered the codes to a few doors before I got killed and said "nah it's too late"
So not only did I not know that it is not allowed and it's not a super obvious rule to begin with, but also I didn't even make use of any resources in that base.
Just following the same logic, you guys should be giving out bans left and right to people who scavange cheaters' bases too just like in my situation. And if you code rade a base that belongs to a cheater? it is also over for you...
But anyways, 7 days is like I said seems very brutal of a punishment don't you think? Can you at the very least halve it please? Again, I've never been in the same team with them. We live on the opposite ends of the map. I've never even seen them this wipe..

Alright, I've taken a look at your situation now. You seem to be under the impression that there's some kind of arbitrary code rule - there isn't. This situation was handled by a person, from start to finish. It's not about codes or some benign action that anyone could do, it's the fact that you clearly have had a cooperative dialogue with a team that is banned from our servers.

Random nakeds looting a decayed base don't fulfil that criterion, and will of course never be banned as a result, same goes for code raiding - it's not some sort of automatic judgement, but to be clear:

Our rules are quite clear regarding association, and it seems that the only point of contention here, is that you don't personally accept that your level of involvement was sufficient - I'm here to tell you that it was, and I'd advise you leave well alone in future, similar situations. Working with banned players in any way, shape or form is exposing yourself to a ban yourself.
