You are clearly playing an on an alt account that only owns rust, from our point of view this account is too much of a risk to be on our servers. I have a question. I was banned for allegedly playing with a cheater, but I never actually played with him. He just kept killing me, and I reported him several times — both in-game and on Discord. At some point, we decided to make a deal with him so he would stop killing us, and we started giving him some resources. We lived in different bases and were not playing together.

I’ve already submitted an appeal, and I was told that the unban will happen in 7 days. But I really want to play, and I’m not sure what to do during this time.

Is it allowed for me to play on the same server using a different account while my main one is banned? Or would that break the rules and possibly get me banned again, maybe by IP or for ban evasion?

You will get banned if you attempt to ban evade (playing on the same server using a different account). Good news, it's temporary. It's really frustrating that I spent two weeks playing on this server, and it all ended up being for nothing because of a cheater who made it impossible to play. He wouldn’t even let me leave my base, and at some point, I had no choice but to make a deal with him just to be able to keep playing.

In the end, even though I didn’t break any rules myself, I still got banned for 7 days. It’s really upsetting, especially when you’re trying to play fairly and end up getting punished simply because you were stuck in a hopeless situation.

Honestly, I no longer understand how it’s even possible to play Rust normally. Cheaters don’t get banned, even when you report them through the game or on the official website — which I did. But if you try to solve the problem on your own, just to be able to keep playing, you get banned instead.

I understand that you're frustrated, but claiming that cheaters are never banned when you're in a situation where a cheater in your team was banned, as well as the individual you reported earlier today, is just not accurate or remotely true. 😦

The vast majority of players never have an issue with association bans, and the fact you are banned for a week, and not permanently, highlights the fact that it is a warning, and that you should absolutely distance yourself from that individual, never play with them again, and be very careful with who you decide to play with in the future. Life will go on after the week is up, and you'll likely not have any more issues with this 🙂

Actually, he wasn’t banned — at least not globally. I didn’t receive any in-game notification about his ban, and he’s still playing on other servers with cheats. Meanwhile, I’m the one sitting out with a ban for a week, even though I didn’t cheat and was just trying to play normally.

Sounded funny tbh, since I didnt think I would randomly be banned for playing with a second account. Didnt do anything against the rules, yet banned for "High Risk Account" and even with trying to prove my main account I wont get unbanned.
No time to farm BPs for the upcoming wipe with my main which was the reason I tried to have a look at the appeal. Why have me post my main account and main dc if it doesnt change the outcome of the appeal?
And the answer to my question if anything could happen to my main account since I have a static IP wasnt even really answered. My banned account is registered on rustoria eu medium with my static ip, If i change account and login from the same IP adress, I bet Itll be banned too and Ill have to appeal it.

For me Its more about my main account and the IP that I share with both accounts. Been an admin on a community server a few years ago and If someone got banned and connected with a different account, that account got automatically too as long as it shared the same IP.
If you can approve that my main will be fine im okay with the decision. 40 Euros wasted but I dont make the rules on your server and therefore have to accept the nonsense that is put upon me.
