I do understand your situation. Some countries do not have a payment system to support the purchase of VIP so asking for a friend to buy one for you and gift it to you should not cause any trouble. Though for reference this is not a secure transaction and it is only in the basis of trust between you and the person that you are asking to give you a VIP pass. In that sense if at some point you bump into any issues, the level of support through #payment-support might be limited.

But to directly respond to your question, no getting VIP like this should not cause an issue with you getting banned.
