Another thing you can do is to have your Steam 64 ID ready and if you see an admin talking in the channel, to kind of politely ask them if they wouldn't mind taking a quick look at your situation and that you've already put in an appeal. Sometimes that can speed up the turnaround, but don't expect it because they're super busy and the ban appeal website is the proper method to sort it out

I have nothing to do with staff but I do believe time can fix things. If I were you I'd balance it out with no expectation of anything changing. Just be kind and helpful in the game for a serious period of time, like 6 months, and then in a future application be clear that you've had a history but you've turned things around and that they can see you're committed to being a positive influence in the community. Just my thoughts
