I need genuine feedback from humans hehe. here is the event: https://bit.ly/jdfconf25
Lol I find this AI response funny
so theres basically two reasons to go to these things
- the presentations (which will be available online, but its useful to be there to ask questions)
- the "hallway track" where you can talk to people between and outside of presentations
#2 is what makes a conference good for me
and someone who has actually been will have to tell you about that
but for #1 you can skim through previous years talks
Join the Microsoft JDConf 2024 free virtual Java developer conference on March 27-28. Learn about the newest developments in Java, Cloud and AI. Mark your calendar!
see if its stuff you are interested in
it seems like an entirely online event
so IMO pretty pointless
go to a real conference - 99% of the point is to talk to real people
That's not widely available haha
and generally cost money
i mean - yes, but a livestreamed youtube video is kinda just that
hope I get the opportunity one day
decide if you want to watch it i guess, but no reason to think like "Is it worth it to attend this conference"
its a youtube video
but I mean, do you see the sessions worthy for a beginner-intermediate person?
watch it live, watch it later, watch it never, skim it, do whatever you want
i'd just look for recordings of conference talks in general
and start watching them
that, as an activity, will be valuable
Guess I ll be there for the rewards then
How much is 1000 Microsoft points worth?
How much is 1,000 Microsoft Points worth? There's no cash value, but 1,000 points roughly equals $1. That's about how much value your rewards have when you earn 1,000 points. Keep in mind that it might not equate to $1 exactly, especially for rewards like gift cards and charity donations.
5$ for free, sounds cool
