When I try to open Eclipse IDE everything is blank except for two popups, how do I fix this? I want to go back to my project

When I try to reimport the eclipse-workspace directory it doesn't work

#

I feel like maybe the application doesn't know where it's own files are?

Just tried reinstalling, it doesn't work

Odd that it's looking on the desktop. It may not like the workspace being there.

We've seen issues with the MOOC when the profilespace is stored on OneDrive... maybe Eclipse has similar issues.

onedrive is known for causing issues, yeah

its mostly bc it doesn't act like regular folders

Can you check Windows > Open Perspective whether the proper perspectives are selected? Alternatively, you could always use IntelliJ CE which is also free, and in my opinion the better IDE.

None of the Java perspectives work

#

Things like Debug and Git open things, but nothing from Java (default), Browsing, or Type Hierarchy.

Can you try and create another workspace to test? It's odd that after reinstall is still broken, i reckon something bad is happening with the workspace... The reinstall was clean? No add ons etc??

No addons or anything

Okay, just made a new workspace located in my computer user's folder (like it's supposed to be) but it still says workspace is closed

Okay figured out the issue, it was my metadata for some reason, I had to delete it.
