Sure, I can help you with that! Minecraft mods are third-party modifications to the game that can add new features, content, or gameplay mechanics. They are typically created by the Minecraft community and can be downloaded and installed on your game.
To get started with mods, you will first need to download and install a mod loader like Forge or Fabric. These tools help manage and load the mods into your game. Once you have a mod loader installed, you can then download mods from websites like CurseForge or Planet Minecraft.
When choosing mods, make sure to check if they are compatible with your version of Minecraft and any other mods you may have installed. It's also a good idea to read reviews and comments from other players to see if the mod is stable and well-received.
If you need help installing or troubleshooting mods, feel free to ask for assistance in our Discord server or check out online tutorials and guides. Additionally, some mods may come with their own documentation or support forums to help you get started.
Overall, experimenting with different mods can enhance your Minecraft experience by adding new challenges, items, or gameplay mechanics. Have fun exploring the wide variety of mods available for Minecraft!
Well.. you probably won't get someone here who is able to help you consistently
Tbh I’m not really looking for consistent. Just general
This is really only for specific questions, because people have things to do, and then answer a question quickly in between
So no tutoring
Aand another problem is that not alot of people here know about modding
And definitely not the more difficult parts of modding
You're probably better off in the Fabric/forge Discord, or on youtube
You can still try with specific questions here tho
Ya it seems like plugins are more favorable than mods from what I can tell. I can see why it makes sense to tbh since plugins are server side and don’t require anybody to download anything to use them
Uhh not really
My point is, this is a Java server, not a modding server (nor a plugin development server)
mods and plugins both have a big audience
This isn't a MC server, and generally this more Q&A based. If you want dedicated MC mod tutoring it's better to join a dedicated MC modding server.
In my defense I have checked out dedicated modding servers and it seems like they’re usually full of people in the same boat as me so I tried something a little different and went off the beaten path. Figured I could try and find someone in a Java server who used to do Minecraft and could toss some intel my way.
but its not like you're encountering any issues
other than "getting started"
to say the entire MC community lacks a way to "get started" is wild
it makes us question the amount of effort you put into getting started, as there are TONS of resources online for getting started with MC modding
so you either have to ask a specific question, or follow along with the guides better
if you aren't able to follow the basic guides available online, there's not much we can do other than spoonfeed you
