Finding motivation can be challenging, but there are several strategies you can try to help regain your motivation for coding and completing projects:

  1. Set clear goals: Define specific and achievable goals for yourself in Java programming. Having a clear objective will give you something to work towards and can increase your motivation.

  2. Break projects into smaller tasks: Large projects can be overwhelming, leading to a lack of motivation. Break them down into smaller, manageable tasks that you can complete one at a time. Celebrate each small accomplishment, which will help maintain your motivation.

  3. Find inspiration: Look for inspiring Java projects or success stories from other programmers. Seeing what others have achieved can motivate you to work on your own projects.

  4. Create a schedule: Establish a regular coding routine by setting aside dedicated time each day or week for coding practice. Consistency is key in building motivation and skills.

  5. Join coding communities: Engage with online communities or forums where programmers share their work and discuss ideas. Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals can provide encouragement and inspiration.

  1. Start with small, interesting projects: Begin with smaller projects that align with your interests or hobbies. Working on something enjoyable will make the process more engaging and increase your motivation to complete it.

  2. Take breaks when needed: If you're feeling burnt out or lacking motivation, take short breaks to recharge yourself mentally and physically. Sometimes stepping away from coding for a while can help rekindle your enthusiasm when you return.

  3. Seek accountability partners: Find someone who shares similar goals or interests in programming and become accountability partners. Regularly checking in with each other's progress and providing support can boost motivation.

  4. Focus on the learning process: Instead of solely focusing on the end result, embrace the learning journey itself as an opportunity for growth and improvement. Celebrate the knowledge gained along the way, even if a project isn't completed as initially planned.

  5. Reflect on the benefits: Remind yourself of the benefits and rewards that come with improving your Java skills. Whether it's career opportunities, personal growth, or the ability to create something meaningful, keeping these in mind can reignite your motivation.

Remember that motivation can fluctuate, and it's normal to have ups and downs. Experiment with different strategies until you find what works best for you.

Do something else study math for example and then maybe you will get a cool idea how you can combine some of the external stuff to coding which will bring you more motivation

Then just dont come back, if you dont have the passion for coding and not coded anything for more than a year you should maybe consider something else instead
