#Private Servers - Current Status

Hi everyone, and thanks for welcoming me to the discord.

What's the current, best way to run a private server? My friend and I want to be able to join and play together or independently on the same world. Currently we use Go-Portal, but it seems inadequate for a few reasons relative to how we wish to play.

My friend and I just started playing this game again. We set up a private server through Go-Portal since the UI led us that direction, but we were dismayed that we don't have control over the power station duration [that it stays active after powering it on]. We used to play in private worlds that allowed the use of this setting, but that world was only available to join while the creator was in-game.

I have seen some instructions online for steam relays and things like that. I have a spare machine I could potentially use as a server host. Any recommendations? I'd like my friends to be able to play in the world even while I'm not on AND have the native server/world setting controls you would have in a solo/local game (E.G., "power stays active" # of days).

Thank you in advance for any in-sight or assistance as it's difficult to tell what's "current" best practice.

None so far. Steam reviews seem to suggest the creators have somewhat abandoned this game to work on their new title "Vein". Which seems like a cool project, but it's still very early access and something about it just doesn't feel as gritty as STN to me, so hopefully someone with some experience using the Steam Relay's will reply because I think the Go-Portal servers are kind of lacking in the settings department (no power duration settings specifically for us).

Looks like they have added stuff not to long ago, and not that long since version 1.0 got released to. So dont think they have left the game to its grave yet.

And the way to setup a server should be pointed to little easier.. Or a guide should be made on what you have to have in there making it work.
Ive been on the server thing for 2 days now, and the server looks like its running, but no way to check or connect.

Lol we're not the vein guys i think those guys are some of the original Dead Matter guys.
