The cutscenes and battle animations look so above and beyond for this game. It seriously is my most ideal form of a remake. Staying true visually while but upping the production value of its presentation

I actually have a very different opinion on Links Awakening. The reason why is I view Mario RPG as exacting the artstyle it wanted from its first attempt.

Everything is built to scale
Everything matches its concept art
It just aged poorly since it relied on CRT televisions to push the garphics that hard

Meanwhile Links Awakening minimalized its in game artstyle on the gameboy and used concept art to help gamers use their imagination when interpreting its art. So mimicking the minialist artstyle to match the gameboys was a bit of a let down

Yeah that was so unfortunate. No improvements to gameplay outside of some bug fixes, Randys voice... The remixed music which im just glad you could switch back to the original OST... I also had a hard time with the lips not moving
