ahh actually maybe The Tatami Galaxy (Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei), one of the most deliberately and strongest written shows i've ever seen.
it's so tightly paced too it's actually perfect bro
the way it all connects in the end 😭

My favourite story is what inspired the studio to make a game like Until Dawn. I kinda hope I fit in the question.
As well as a bunch of classic horror movies, Supermassive Games was heavily inspired by older horror games when creating Until Dawn. They wanted to employ the tension-building elements of classics like Silent Hill and Resident Evil, in particular hoping to recreate the feeling of dread inspired by the long treks through towns and hallways the player endures in Silent Hill.
To achieve the interactive drama element in Until Dawn, the developers looked at earlier decision-making, interactive games, admitting to taking inspiration from Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain, among others. They were also inspired by these movies: Psycho (1960)

The Exorcist (1973)
Halloween (1978)
Poltergeist (1982)
Evil Dead II (1987)
The Conjuring (2013).
The story was written by Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick, who sought to create the video game equivalent of a slasher film. The development team took inspiration from various sources. These include the movies Evil Dead II and Poltergeist, and video games Heavy Rain, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill.
/i know i mentioned some movies twice btw :) i like it all at one piece. so it's like a huge mix to make this game, it really has a special place in my heart. so funny i tried for years to find a legend, or anything, to make the game. just found out about wendigos. i hope i didn't clog up the chat tho. that's why the game is so.. so good for me. idk it prolly belongs in game and tech channel but the story behind this is kinda nothing and everything. like a wendigo legend is 1% and all is just an inspo. it's just a bit funny to me i guess.
