the normal album by will wood- he and i both have bipolar disorder and the album is sorta thematically abt going through recovery and figuring out who you are in the midst of mental illness. i relate to all of the songs and have had similar experiences. plus its technically and lyrically amazing too. its probably my favorite album of all time https://open.spotify.com/album/18N6gzTT0phzm6YktirxNe?si=Oy6rU8BpRNilaeTfhGVVKw
https://open.spotify.com/album/2DnKfv1kopBogSxdFJ0kUt?si=_piuULh3QUaf6MorflOKoA
i think this album sorta allows me to be in a space where i can like just chill out from being overwhelmed constantly lately
trench helped me trought hard times during quarantine and actually made me more into listening music, it's also the only album i have in physical media
https://open.spotify.com/album/621cXqrTSSJi1WqDMSLmbL?si=GJR5ZCBBT4aDndHzzomUlw&utm_source=copy-link
i would like to mention 'live and die on the northside' by this guy Sidney Phillips and some unknown dude called shazay or something idk you guys probably don't know him
blurryface because its how i was introduced to them and trench because its objectively perfect
i couldn't explain exactly why donuts is so important to me. sure J Dilla is one of my biggest inspirations and it is a wonderful album but there's some sort of deeper connection with it that i can't explain. it's one of the albums that make up me
https://open.spotify.com/album/7xJ7jHNu3JNfdnao9xwMho
forca bruta also has that same inexplicable deeper connection. every song is beautiful, and whenever i hear jorge strum his guitar it just hits. however also, i believe this album to be the catalyst into me searching for an even wider variety of music and trying to listen to music from all around the globe.

DONUTSāļø
DONUTSā¼ļø
iām gonna get bullied but the 2011 and 2018 version of twin fantasy by csh are both really important to me š i feel like they capture a lot of queer experiences and feelings that other artists havenāt been able to verbalize in the same way that i can relate to, and idk i can relate to a lot of the themes talked about and it was one of the first times i could listen to something and just kinda be like. āholy shit i feel seen,ā not to mention the writing is fucking stellar and i think high to death is one of my favorite songs of all time and the voicemail played at the end is really powerful
also bleak week by dandelion hands because itās an album thatās been there with me in some of my worst moments and the sounds are really comforting, wrenās lullaby is my most streamed song of all time š¤
hmm

quarantine was awful for me, and one of the few things that kept me going was music. lianne la havas was one of those artists that i found during that time and i owe her the world. she gets very vulnerable here and presents ideas that are really close to what i was going through. trying to find yourself in a dark period in your life. it's not easy. but im proud to say i did it :)
the ratatouille ost is the most revolutionary and groundbreaking album. it hits my soul in a way that cant be repaired and im forced to wallow in my emotions and it really makes me do some self reflection. truth is, i wouldnt be here today without that sweet sweet french singer and those acordians that are as smooth and gentle as silk.

this is my emotional support album :) idk what it is about it really, besides i feel like thereās a song for every emotion i could feel going through a shitty time (or even not shitty). itās gotten me through just weird patches in life, every breakup, etc. the song my first dance at my wedding will be to is on it ā¼ļøā¼ļøā¼ļø itās just that good

These albums, it sums up my journey in my love life, fighting my intrusive thoughts, finding my purpose and kind of my therapy by singing along loud, and also it helps me to not feel alone during long drives and eating with my family/alone since I have no plans to move on but to just let go my first girlfriend since she is also so important to me. Lastly, it helps me to think more deep and it sometimes answers my unanswered questions and my what ifs.

Give me your shoulders released at a time where I was able to really connect with the songs and my relationships. The album is about love, a love of God and a love of people. I've found incredible love and these songs do amazing at giving the message I know I wanna hear and share. https://open.spotify.com/album/07Ac7q2KMqblFcVfyWPmig?si=3W9CPmsxSl2iFYvwbLa4Qg

the new abnormal opened my eyes and let me cry when i need to. the fast and happy melancholy in each song triggered shit in me that i didn't know existed. it filled me in with myself. https://open.spotify.com/album/2xkZV2Hl1Omi8rk2D7t5lN?si=mS2G__2uTzKMSczrOmqUuw&utm_source=copy-link
BUMMER became the soundtrack for my everyday, the distortion feeding my anger and the vocal delivery is flawless. this is what me at 16 needed. https://open.spotify.com/album/3o0iNid084ArLzRpaF5xfz?si=RtDdFy07Rg6feAM-0c7Ceg&utm_source=copy-link

Trench because it got me through one of the darkest times in my life
Scaled and Icy because that's when I FINALLY had the courage (and money) to go to my first big-name concert
Ocean Eyes by Owl City because that's what inspired me to pick up electronic music production, which in a roundabout way led me to where I am now as a video game QA tester. Also because Owl City was the first musical artist that I truly felt passionate about
good pin

i wrote that awhile ago in like a span of two hours cuz im getting into music journalism and im p proud of it
Rock Steady- No Doubt
No Doubt was the first band my parents introduced me to and how my mom and I bonded through music. No Doubt and later Gwen Stefani was how I grew up loving all genres of music and loving the music my mom listened to in her young adult life. I grew up not far from Gwen Stefaniās home and she gave me hope to move out my city and do bigger things.
I think the most important album for me is Fuerza Natural by Gustavo Cerati. It's an album that blew my mind from the first time I heard it. From the premonitory lyrics (this is a theory, but I believe them, at a certain point, they make sense xD), the poetry, the references... there's even a whole investigation behind this album called "the Cerati codex" that blows my mind even more. Everything is so well thought out, the lyrics, the music, absolutely everything. I think what matters most to me about the album is more the context than the album itself. The fact that in an interview the man who saved my life on more than one occasion said "if I retired today I would leave happy, because of Fuerza Natural" and that a few months later he fell into a coma to die 4 years later... is strong. But as Gustavo himself said "it's a journey". And it really was for me. Each song is like going to a totally different planet (in fact the songs also play with that, the same for the image of the tour), it is full of symbolism and personal things that I would simply say is the album of my life. https://open.spotify.com/album/51wepZm3YvZfvFxiu7D5F8?si=f43389f8351c45df
Vessel. I know such a clikkie answer, but it really helped me understand my own thoughts and seek help to stay alive
Revolution Radio by Green Day. It was the first Green Day album I ever listened to fully through and since then Green Day have changed my life for the better. Theyāve helped me overcome so many mental health battles and I couldnāt be more grateful for them
III by the lumineers the lumineers had always been my first introduction to real music and after a while I stopped listening to music but when III came out I started listening to a lot of music again which led me to discover the beastie boys and top
uhhh could you like tw that
i have a few, every top album (especially blurryface and self titled) but blue weekend by wolf alice is justā¦comforting I guess? like itās just there if I want to switch my brain off and not think about my problems
https://music.apple.com/gb/album/blue-weekend/1551677672
Regional at best
All of those songs, all of the sounds, all of Tylers emotion conveyed through the music, wow.
I was on the edge of ||ending my life|| one night, and be concerned came on through one of my playlists.
one of the reasons im here today
thank you guys, i hope to meet you one day and say that in person
i mean, obviously as many others have said, vessel and self-titled. i used to listen to them on repeat when i was at my lowest. my pain felt seen and known when i listened to the music but it also felt like the boys were always encouraging me to keep fighting.
what i would also do is play another artistās albums in between the twenty one pilots albums. this might seem silly but the other artist was jj hellerāidk if any of you know her but she basically does really beautiful lullabies and calming music. in her early days she also wrote songs about her anxiety disorder and i think thatās why i liked her calming music. since she has anxiety, she knew what an anxious person like her might want in that kind of music.
so my listening habits would be just like: TOP > JJ > TOP > JJ > TOP etc and i would listen to both of their full discographies that way, just switching back and forth from our angsty boys to the lullaby lady š
older jj album (had the most relatable songs about anxiety for me at 14): https://open.spotify.com/album/0yfbXPaOuOehJixgSdhEew?si=ke88bqXNTvqJ__EdiEVRiA
my favorite/most relaxing lullaby album (itās a covers album rather than stuff sheās written but i just find this whole thing soooo relaxing): https://open.spotify.com/album/0FrXB86RC2QqKhAy7XuL6X?si=jxBgHP5uRjKbi7RVRLEvdQ
itās an ep but half-written story by hailee steinfeld, every song on that bitch has gotten me through some ROUGH shit, plus thereās just absolutely no skips on it
Paramore: Self-titled, Switchfoot - Fading West and Hillsong UNITED - Zion because all 3 were released at that period where I started to listen to my own music and those were the albums I listened to and knew by heart. Fresh albums which I listened to a lot. Especially Paramore's, which started my fanboy area of them.

well, like a good clikkie, all albums, but exclusively Vessel and S.A.I. by Twenty One Pilots, Animal Kingdom (Cavetown songs) and Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge by MCR, I think what's really important in an album is that it shows all the effort, dedication and love that you went into producing, the hours that you were recording , the anxiety until the end, for me, is that album that chills you to the deepest places, and that moves you until you can't stand to cry anymore, which inexplicably, brings you a very strange vibe, but it's very good https://open.spotify.com/album/2r2r78NE05YjyHyVbVgqFn

Listen to album in TIDAL - Andy Shauf: The Party
This whole album revolves around a series of interactions that Andy has with some of his āfriendsā. Excellent use of acoustic instruments, including saxophones and clarinets.
